About the role:

As a Field Service Technician IV, you will serve in a supervisory role during the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Westinghouse refueling and I&C equipment at operating nuclear power plants. You will also support a variety of outage activities, including work involving reactor internals and other critical plant systems. You will also provide a high level of technical review in the design and operation of fuel handling equipment with a focus on ease of installation and maintainability, project and resource management, and operations.

You will report to the Product Manager of ELA Outage and Maintenance Services. When not on travel, this is a remote role that can be performed from anywhere in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Field Service tech/service lead and shift supervisor activities, including field project management, field project planning/scheduling, crew work assignments, customer orientation, and technical conflict resolution.
  • Lead field installation, equipment setup, troubleshoot, testing, and maintenance of refueling equipment at customer sites, using installation procedures, setup and calibration procedures, and site acceptance test procedures.
  • Provide design engineering support through design reviews, procedure reviews, and the preparation of field documents required for equipment installation.
  • Provide support to engineering project manager by documenting equipment design and performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions and lessons learned are complete before final project document transmittal.
  • Provide support to manufacturing by performing activities such as equipment setup and testing, mock-up preparation, and equipment and process qualifications. Participate in factory setup of equipment, lead Factory Acceptance Testing with customer and provide customer equipment maintenance and operational training.
  • Be the subject matter expert to develop training programs, lesson plans, and present training material to less experienced technicians.
  • Practice ALARA principles and a "Safety First" attitude for all installation activities.
  • Provide technical direction and guide other personnel in equal or lower classification.


Qualifications:
  • High school graduate or recognized equivalent
  • 2+ years of degree/certificate training or appropriate field experience
  • Specific knowledge and training in AC/DC electrical, motor controls, electronics, and mechanical curriculum
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) ladder logic programming, and several motor drives (including servo motor drives)
  • Exceed all requirements Level 1, 2, and 3 Technician position description and critical skill qualifications
  • 6+ years related field and outage experience in leading field projects
  • Meet requirements of Westinghouse and customer security, unescorted access, and fitness for duty programs.
  • Occasionally carry/lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Full range of motion i.e. ability to reach, climb, kneel, squat, grasp, bend forwards and backwards, sit, and stand for at least 4 hours per day
  • Pass a Westinghouse physical which includes a spirometer for the ability to wear a respirator.
  • Travel up to 80% of the time, maintain "Unescorted Access" status, and work with hazardous materials in a radiological controlled area within an operating nuclear power plant.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $76,522.45 to $101,864.75 per year.
