Full Job Description
FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER, STARLINK
The Field Operations Manager, known internally as the Consumer Sales Operations Manager, is the execution lead for in-market channel programs. The role supports omnichannel marketing managers by leading logistics and operations with vendors in the field, ensuring successful execution, high compliance with on-brand retail presence, and driving program success with in-store activation programs. Scope covers merchandising and compliance audits, sourcing and managing vendors who can perform equivalent work globally, executing display refreshes and resets, and managing third-party logistics for assisted-selling programs. The role sits in the global retail marketing team, partners daily with omnichannel marketing managers, and is accountable for whether the plan is delivered in market. The role will require regular travel to markets, retail partners, and vendor sites during launch and audit windows.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and run merchandising and compliance audits covering planogram adherence, display quality, POS placement, display compliance, and brand standards, with comparable scorecards and photo evidence across regions.
Convert audit results into corrective actions with retailers, distributors, and marketing owners, and track trends that point to fixture, supply, or training gaps.
Forecast, order, and manage repair & maintenance parts for displays across multiple displays and retailers.
Source, qualify, and contract field-merchandising, audit, and install vendors that can cover priority global regions; maintain coverage maps, rate cards, SLAs, and drive consistently high execution.
Run local sourcing or RFPs where a global vendor cannot serve a market, and onboard vendors to brand guidelines, installation sheets, safety rules, photo standards, and reporting tools.
Schedule and supervise installs, refreshes, and teardowns, manage material handoff so inventory arrives before crews, and close each wave with completion proof and an exception log.
Manage 3rd-party labor teams for assisted-selling programs, supporting multiple initiatives.
Set inventory minimums and replenishment rules by region and program, and manage 3PL SLAs, damage, cost per kit, and availability for marketing deployment.
Join campaign planning early enough to flag lead time, cost, and execution risk, and report status in the marketing team's review cadence.
Feed field insights back to omnichannel marketing managers for continuous improvement planning.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree.
6+ years in field marketing, retail execution, merchandising operations, or trade marketing.
Hands-on experience running audits, display resets, or vendor-managed field programs.
Proven ability to work with marketing stakeholders and cross functional partners.
Ability to travel to markets and vendor sites, including during peak retail windows.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience supporting a global or multi-region channel or omnichannel marketing teams.
Experience in consumer electronics, networking connectivity, or similar categories.
Experience selecting and managing third-party merchandising or 3PL partners.
Working knowledge of planograms, POS, retail compliance, and basic inventory flow.
Familiarity with photo-audit platforms, shared execution trackers, and light compliance reporting.
Experience with assisted-selling and demo programs.
Exposure to retail partner operations, distributor execution, or brand-standard enforcement.
Ability to write clear scopes of work, service level agreements, and exception reports for non-technical stakeholders.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to manage variable field and logistics spend against an approved budget and explain variances.
Must follow brand, safety, and data-handling standards when directing vendors and handling store or partner information.
Work hours will flex across regions and peak campaign calendars; some early or late calls from global stakeholders are expected.
A valid passport and ability to travel internationally are required for vendor qualification and launch support.
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. a7 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
