Role at a GlanceGecko is hiring a hands-on B2B events marketer to define and execute how we show up at the conferences and trade shows that matter most to our customers. As Field & Events Marketing Manager, you will develop our events strategy across government, defense, oil and gas, power, and critical infrastructure-determining where Gecko should invest and creating experiences that engage priority accounts and support business growth.
This role combines strategy with execution. You will partner closely with Business Development, Marketing, and Design while owning event planning, vendors, budgets, physical builds, on-site operations, and performance measurement from start to finish.
What You Will Do- Own Gecko's conference and trade show strategy, aligning event investments with priority markets, accounts, and business objectives.
- Determine how Gecko should show up at each event-from a targeted presence to a larger brand activation-based on the audience, opportunity, and expected impact.
- Lead end-to-end execution, including budgets, sponsorships, vendors, booth builds, equipment logistics, demonstrations, and on-site operations.
- Partner with Business Development to establish event goals, engage priority accounts, coordinate executive meetings, and support effective post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, and Design to develop messaging, content, and physical experiences that clearly communicate Gecko's value.
- Build relationships with event organizers and industry partners to secure speaking opportunities, sponsorships, and strategic visibility.
- Measure event performance through target-account engagement, executive meetings, pipeline influence, cost, and other meaningful business outcomes.
- Build repeatable processes and vendor relationships that improve the quality and efficiency of each event.
- Support select VIP visits and Gecko-hosted customer experiences as needed.
About YouRequired Skills- 5+ years of experience owning B2B conferences, trade shows, field marketing, experiential marketing, or similar events from strategy through on-site execution.
- Demonstrated success managing complex event logistics, vendors, budgets, sponsorships, and physical activations.
- Experience partnering with Sales or Business Development to support priority accounts and long, relationship-driven sales cycles.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Sound judgment about how to scale event presence and investment based on the audience, opportunity, and business objective.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the executive presence to engage senior internal and external stakeholders.
- A high-agency, hands-on approach and willingness to own both strategic decisions and detailed execution.
- Based in or willing to relocate to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
- Ability to travel approximately 40-60%, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on the events calendar.
Preferred Skills- Background in government, defense, oil and gas, power, energy, or critical infrastructure markets.
- Familiarity with marketing complex technical or physical products.
- Knowledge of account-based marketing and event ROI measurement.
- A track record of producing large-scale booth builds, equipment demonstrations, or executive-level customer experiences.
