Field Application Engineer (FAE) - Cellular & 5G IoT

Location: San Diego, California Job Type: Full-Time | Experience: Mid-Senior (3+ years)

About the Role

We are seeking a customer-facing Field Application Engineer (FAE) to guide customers through the integration and troubleshooting of our high-performance cellular connectivity solutions. In this remote role, you will serve as the technical champion for engineering clients in the IoT space.

Key Responsibilities

- Technical Integration: Primary technical contact for customers embedding cellular connectivity modules into product designs.

- Design-In Support: Review schematics, PCB layouts, and software to optimize Qualcomm-based cellular technologies.

- Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex RF, hardware, and firmware issues (LTE, 5G, IoT) using network analyzers and debugging tools.

- Collaboration: Partner with R&D and Sales to relay customer feedback and influence the product roadmap.

Position Requirements

Education & Experience

- Degree: Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Engineering, or related field.

- Industry Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in an FAE or Systems Engineering role supporting cellular communication.

Technical Expertise

- Qualcomm Chipset Mastery: Minimum 3 years of direct experience with Qualcomm chipset connectivity technology (specifically LTE, 5G, and cellular IoT platforms).

- Cellular Architecture: Deep understanding of cellular module architectures, RF front-ends, SIM/eSIM, and antenna integration.

- Embedded Software: Experience embedding cellular drivers into host environments (Linux, Android, RTOS), AT commands, and debugging network attachment issues.

Soft Skills

- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to engineering teams and stakeholders.

- Highly disciplined to thrive in a 100% remote environment.
