Full Job Description
The What

As a Facilities Supervisor you will be part of a dedicated team based in Kitchener, Ontario and reporting to the DC Site Leader. As a key member of the Distribution team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of a distribution centre and office environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, overseeing maintenance projects, and managing vendor relationships.

What You Will Get To Do
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure facility safety, functioning equipment, and compliance with regulations, including building, fire, and electrical codes, OHDS, TDG, Reg. 309, etc.
  • Responsible to manage site's maintenance workload and set priorities. Schedule and supervise internal staff and/or outside contractors to complete facility maintenance initiatives.
  • Establish regular maintenance and preventative maintenance testing, including but not limited to safety, fire, security, engineering, environmental testing and reporting.
  • Manage facilities projects from beginning to end, meeting business requirements, budgets, and deadlines. Review with Finance team costs and benefits of changes recommended.
  • Manage and maintain all vendor contracts.
  • Primary contact for alarm company and security services. On call contact for weekend and evening calls. Must be able to report to the site promptly outside of working hours if required to respond to an alarm condition.
  • Act as liaison between Company and all outside federal, provincial, and municipal agencies. Act as liaison with the City and the region on all road and property issues affecting the site. Act as liaison with insurance provider to ensure facilities remain in compliance with major recommendations.
  • Responsible to develop and manage capital budgets, maintain an accurate inventory of all items including the condition of building locations i.e. floor, roof, HVAC, parking lot etc. Must stay within budget for all capital projects.
  • Source, acquire, and implement items, fixtures environmental devices including office equipment facilities in Kitchener.
  • Survey, spec, tender, negotiate and expedites purchase agreements, leases and contracts on equipment, services and facilities as needed.
  • Main point of contact supporting site tenants. Responsible to follow up with issues and requests from tenants requiring repairs, modifications or enhancements to their facilities.
  • Act as a back up to the Warehouse Supervisors to provide coverage when needed.


Who You Are
  • Post-secondary education in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field an asset
  • Minimum 5-7 years experience in facilities supervision or management, preferably in a warehouse/distribution and office environment
  • Proven ability to manage maintenance projects, timelines, and budgets
  • Previous experience supervising employees in a unionized environment considered an asset
  • Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security)
  • Knowledge of insurance, building, fire, and electrical codes, OHSA, TDG, and all other applicable regulations
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety regulations in Ontario
  • Experience managing vendor contracts and service agreements
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Valid Ontario driver's license an asset
