The Facilities Project Engineer provides day-to-day project coordination and technical support for facility planning, design, renovation, and construction projects. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, this role assists with project planning, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, construction administration, and project closeout to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with organizational standards.
The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.
What You’ll Be Doing
Project Delivery
• Support Project Managers in the planning and execution of capital improvement, renovation, tenant improvement, and infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate project activities throughout planning, design, procurement, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
• Track project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and action items.
• Assist in preparing project documentation, reports, presentations, and executive briefings.
Design & Construction Coordination
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Review design documents for completeness and constructability.
• Participate in design reviews, site walks, progress meetings, and inspections.
• Assist in resolving field issues and documenting project decisions.
Budget & Contract Administration
• Assist with project estimates, cost tracking, purchase requisitions, and invoice reviews.
• Monitor project expenditures and identify potential budget variances.
• Support change order review and documentation.
• Maintain project financial records and supporting documentation.
• Schedule Management
• Maintain project schedules and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate project deliverables across multiple stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks.
• Assist in developing recovery plans when milestones are at risk.
Communication & Stakeholder Coordination
• Prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and action-item logs.
• Coordinate communication between project teams, facility occupants, vendors, and leadership.
• Provide regular project status updates.
Documentation & Closeout
• Maintain organized project files and records.
• Coordinate turnover documentation including as-built drawings, warranties, O&M manuals, and commissioning documentation.
• Support project closeout activities and lessons learned sessions.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements for the Facilities Project Engineer – Specialist III
• 0–3 years of experience in construction, engineering, architecture, facilities, or project management.
• This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• Internship or co-op experience supporting construction or facility projects.
• Familiarity with project scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar).
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or BIM platforms.
• Knowledge of construction contracts and project delivery methods.
• CAPM certification or interest in pursuing Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
