Position Summary

The expert 3D CAD Records & Data Analyst serves as a key liaison between the Records team, Engineering groups, and program leadership within Gas Transmission Engineering and Design. This role supports the integration of 3D modeling into project workflows while managing the end-to-end records lifecycle for engineering deliverables, including check-in/check-out protocols, version control, and data integrity across systems. The Analyst will coordinate SAP tasks related to drawing custody and work order management, maintain and enhance reporting dashboards, and support cross-functional collaboration between engineering, drafting, construction, and records teams. This position also contributes to the development of organizational standards and guidelines applicable to 3D CAD projects and plays a supporting role in the ongoing buildout of systems, tools, and processes that improve operational visibility and compliance.

Position will require approximately 10% of travel time in work schedule (mostly travel will be to the headquarters, San Ramon Valley Conference Center and Stockton or other yards for training needs)

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory ( San Ramon[headquarters planned to be changed to Pleasanton in October of 2026]).

Position duties may include but are not limited to-

Business Systems & Data Integration
• Support the records lifecycle for engineering and drafting deliverables, including coordination with engineering records, as-built, and project teams to ensure timely and accurate processing.
• Serve as a backup Program Manager in support of reporting, metrics tracking, and stakeholder communications to ensure current data is available for decision making purposes.
• Track and resolve kickbacks, coordinating with engineering and drafting teams.
• Coordinate SAP tasks related to drawing custody, work order management, and asset tracking.
• Ensure data entry to support project visibility and integrity by maintaining and enhancing existing Power BI dashboards, SharePoint, and other performance reports that support Gas Transmission metrics and tracking.
• Maintain accuracy and proper indexing in systems of record, such as ProjectWise and Documentum.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline data flows between engineering, operations, and IT systems.

3D CAD Records and Design Support
• Manage check-in and check-out processes for 3D models and project deliverables, driving workflow efficiency and data integrity improvements.
• Support the improvement of project processes through the incorporation of 3D modeling tools and workflows.
• Serve as a point of coordination for AutoCAD-related records inquiries, connecting designers and drafters with appropriate Autodesk resources and technical support.
• Support the maintenance of 3D block and component libraries, assisting with consistency checks and readiness verification for design application.
• Support 3D model version control and drawing custody throughout the project lifecycle, coordinating with engineering and records teams.
• Create and maintain job aids, guidelines, and documentation pertaining to records management and processes.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support change management efforts.
• Support validation of 3D model packages, coordinate multidisciplinary review workflows, and assist with the finalization of project outputs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Pay Range:
  • Bay Area Minimum: $122,000
  • Bay Area Maximum: $194,000


This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs

• Participate in UATs and perform quality reviews of test results.
• May assist with training, change management and communications associated with system implementations.
• Contribute to business case development
• Participate in project estimates.
• May write manuals, Requests for Change, procedures.
• Typically provides mentorship and guidance to less experienced employees

Qualifications-

Minimum:
  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • 7 years of job related experience in Business, IT or Engineering fields.
  • Participation in projects of high complexity at an expert level or in a leadership role.
  • Continuous education in IT and business specific areas.

Desired:
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in IT-Information Technology management, or related, 6 years
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with records management, document control, or engineering records workflows
  • 8+ years of experience with Autodesk CAD software environments (AutoCAD, Plant 3D, or Civil 3D)
  • Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or similar cloud-based collaboration platforms
  • 8+ years of experience reading construction drawings/redlines
  • Experience with Bluebeam (sessions) or similar markup and review tools
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and mentoring capabilities
  • Experience with SAP workflow management and document control systems (e.g., ProjectWise, Documentum, SharePoint)
  • 8+ years of experience with Power BI dashboards and data reporting
  • Familiarity with as-built or engineering records processes in a utility or industrial environment
  • Experience with SharePoint administration, configuration, or site development
