PITCO FOODS ENVIRONMENTAL WASTE COMPLIANCE MANAGERPOSITION SUMMARY:The
Environmental Waste Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing PITCO Foods' Environmental Sensitive Waste Management Program. This position ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations governing the handling, storage, transportation, recycling, treatment, and disposal of hazardous, universal, and other regulated waste streams.
The
Environmental Waste Compliance Manager serves as the Company's environmental compliance subject matter expert and partners with Operations, Safety, Facilities, and external regulatory agencies to minimize environmental risks while supporting sustainable business practices.
Primary Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain the Company's Environmental Sensitive Waste Management Program.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, CalEPA, DTSC, CalRecycle, and other applicable environmental regulations.
- Manage hazardous waste, universal waste, electronic waste, food waste, recyclable materials, and other regulated waste streams.
- Oversee waste characterization, labeling, storage, accumulation, transportation, and disposal.
- Coordinate with licensed waste haulers and disposal vendors.
- Maintain manifests, permits, waste profiles, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections and facility audits.
- Develop corrective actions following environmental findings.
- Lead spill prevention, containment, and environmental response activities.
- Maintain Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans where applicable.
- Support Stormwater Pollution Prevention (SWPPP) compliance.
- Manage chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Coordinate environmental reporting required by regulatory agencies.
- Develop environmental awareness and waste segregation training programs.
- Support sustainability, recycling, composting, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Monitor environmental KPIs and prepare reports for leadership.
- Serve as the primary contact during environmental inspections and audits.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Hygiene, or related field.
- 5+ years of environmental compliance or hazardous waste management experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency).
- DTSC (Department of Toxic Substances Control).
- RCRA (Resources Conservation and Recovery Act).
- CalEPA (California Environmental Protection Agency).
- CalRecycle (California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery).
- DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (Department of Transportation).
- Experience managing hazardous and universal waste programs.
- Knowledge of manifests, waste profiling, and environmental recordkeeping.
- Experience with environmental audits and regulatory inspections.
- Strong project management and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications- CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)

- OSHA 30 General Industry
- RCRA Hazardous Waste Certification
