Job DescriptionThe OpportunityBuild the Future With Us As an Environmental Planner, you will help shape sustainable communities by leading and supporting environmental assessments, guiding regulatory processes, and advancing stakeholder engagement for nuclear, electricity transmission, renewable energy, mining, transportation, and transit projects. Your knowledge of Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act and the federal Impact Assessment Act will help multidisciplinary teams navigate complex requirements and deliver thoughtful, practical solutions..
Your Impact- Support environmental planning and environmental assessments for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Produce project deliverables, including technical studies, impact assessments, regulatory documentation, and engagement materials.
- Write, compile, and edit environmental impact assessment report sections to communicate findings clearly and effectively.
- Plan for and participate in project meetings and consultation events that support meaningful stakeholder engagement.
- Evaluate requests for proposals and help develop proposals, work scopes, budgets, and schedules with support from senior staff.
- Coordinate logistics planning for environmental field programs and help multidisciplinary teams deliver efficiently.
- Analyze moderately complex environmental and regulatory issues using sound judgement and detailed analysis.
- Mentor and support junior staff, promoting knowledge sharing and growth across the team.
The Skills That Set You Apart- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental studies, planning, science, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of experience completing environmental assessments and navigating regulatory processes in Ontario.
- Thorough knowledge of Ontario's Environmental Assessment Act and/or the federal Impact Assessment Act.
- Proven ability to manage or support complex projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and related project documentation.
- Familiarity with Ontario and federal regulators and permitting processes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team while meeting deadlines.
