The Impact you will have in this role:

The Data Governance Associate supports the execution of enterprise data governance activities across assigned business domains. Working closely with Data Owners, Data Stewards, technology teams, and governance practitioners, this role assists with the documentation, maintenance, and monitoring of governance requirements to improve data quality, transparency, and regulatory compliance.

This position provides an opportunity to develop expertise in data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, and risk management while supporting enterprise governance initiatives.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist with the implementation of enterprise Data Governance policies, standards, and procedures within assigned business areas.
• Support the collection, documentation, validation, and maintenance of business metadata, technical metadata, and data lineage information.
• Support onboarding of data domains, systems, reports, and critical data elements into governance processes and repositories.
• Maintain governance documentation, inventories, governance artifacts, and records to ensure information remains accurate and current.
• Support governance reporting activities through data gathering, dashboard updates, metric tracking, KPI reporting, and presentation preparation.
• Partner with business and technology teams to gather requirements and document business needs for governance initiatives and technology solutions, including support for translating requirements into user stories.
• Assist in identifying and documenting data quality issues, governance gaps, risks, and remediation activities.
• Support Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities, governance assessments, control documentation, and remediation tracking efforts for assigned business areas.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and working sessions to support governance initiatives and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

• 4+ years of experience in data governance, data management, business analysis, risk management, or related disciplines.
• Working knowledge of data governance concepts including Data Stewardship, Critical Data Elements (CDEs), metadata management, data lineage, data quality management, and governance controls.
• Experience working with governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra, Ataccama, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with AI data lifecycle and dataset governance practices.
• Familiarity with dataset provenance and lineage, including traceability of data sources, transformations, authorized uses, and dependencies across AI development and production processes.
• Familiarity with AI-specific data quality concepts and AI risk and control frameworks.
• Ability to gather, document, and organize business and technical information accurately and efficiently.
• Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and supporting implementation of business and technology solutions.
• Familiarity with risk management concepts, governance assessments, RCSA processes, or control environments is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality governance documentation and data artifacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze information, identify issues, assess potential impacts, and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn new concepts, technologies, and governance practices in a rapidly evolving environment.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.

Enterprise Services comprises of multiple business platforms including Client Services, Global Business Operations, Business Architecture, Data Strategy and Analytics, and Digital Services, which report into the Chief of Enterprise Services.
