Opportunity:Kem Krest is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the successful execution of engineering projects, initiatives, and technical strategies. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, development, and deployment of engineering systems and solutions while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulations. The Engineering Manager serves as a technical leader, driving innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the organization.
This is a
remote-based position with approximately 50% travel, averaging 2-3 days per week. Travel will primarily support operations and teams located in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; Elkhart, Indiana; and Brighton, Michigan. The successful candidate will build strong cross-functional partnerships across these locations while leading projects, developing talent, and aligning engineering initiatives with business objectives.
Responsibilities:- Lead the execution of engineering projects, initiatives, and technical strategies that support company objectives.
- Develop, coach, and mentor team members while building leadership capability and succession plans.
- Translate organizational goals into clear team priorities, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships to drive collaboration, innovation, and problem-solving across the business.
- Manage team performance through coaching, feedback, employee development, and performance management processes.
- Oversee resource planning, initiative execution, milestone tracking, and project delivery to ensure successful outcomes.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical, operational, and cross-functional challenges.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand customer needs and advocate for the voice of the customer.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation decisions while balancing operational and strategic priorities.
- Ensure compliance with quality management systems, safety requirements, customer standards, and regulatory obligations.
Your Contributions:- Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 7-10 years of relevant engineering or technical leadership experience.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing salaried and/or hourly employees.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence outcomes across multiple business functions.
- Strong project management, organizational, and resource-planning skills.
- Proven experience developing teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and employee development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement capabilities.
- Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards, quality systems, safety practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% domestically between Pleasant Prairie, WI; Elkhart, IN; and Brighton, MI.
