Overview

We're growing our Quality team at Shure and hiring an Engineer II, Quality Data!

This role is hybrid (3 days per week on-site) based in our Niles, IL location.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engages with Associates from the Global Quality Division to understand quality engineering processes and their related data systems, identify and respond to quality data needs, assess potential solutions, and drive execution and implementation of such solutions.
  • Partners with business teams, project leaders, and application users to collect, analyze, prioritize, and translate complex business requirements into scalable data engineering, reporting, automation, and AI solutions. Conducts advanced research and analysis to identify opportunities for continuous improvement through process automation, workflow modernization, data architecture enhancements, system integration improvements, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Leads the design, development, implementation, and optimization of enterprise data solutions, including data pipelines, integrations, databases, dashboards, analytics platforms, and cloud-based technologies that support Quality operations and business objectives. Actively supports the resolution of quality data engineering service requests submitted by quality associates and ensures the effective and timely disposition of such requests.
  • Develops, maintains, and governs best practices for data collection, storage, management, security, accessibility, reporting, compliance, and lifecycle management across Quality systems and data platforms.
  • Design the continuous improvement of Quality's foundational systems, procedures, standards, governance frameworks, and digital capabilities to ensure long-term scalability, maintainability, and business value. Provides training, guidance, technical support, and administrative services for global quality systems / databases.
  • Provides technical leadership in the design, architecture, and deployment of AI-enabled solutions across the organization. Possesses advanced expertise in prompt engineering, agentic AI, knowledge grounding, AI governance, and responsible AI practices. Leads the development of intelligent agents, copilots, and AI-integrated business applications using Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and the Power Platform, while establishing standards, mentoring teams, and driving adoption of AI solutions that deliver measurable business value and productivity improvements.
  • Serves as Quality Division's Point of Contact engaging with IT to provide requirements related to the division continuous improvement data initiatives, data process enhancements, metrics reporting, and corporate data projects. Ensures systems are aligned with current business objectives
  • Works with outside software providers to administer and maintain current systems as well as identify and implement new solutions, as required, to sustain/improve our internal processes. Leads these projects.
  • Performs analysis of quality data to identify areas of opportunity in our processes/products and works with quality engineers to drive improvements. Validates effectiveness of the changes through data.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other closely related bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using data analysis and quality tools or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Proven experience in using SAP S4HANA, Microsoft Power Platform (specifically PowerApps, and Power Automate), Microsoft Excel (advanced), Tableau, and Minitab to store, process, analyze, and report data.
  • Experience with the following systems / infrastructures is a plus: AWS Data Lake, Snowflake, Informatica, Reliance EtQ, SharePoint Online.
  • Technical proficiency with Python, SQL, C, SAS, JAVA, Excel VBA, is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic quality tools is desirable, such as Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Ability to think logically and constructively about problems, clearly communicate findings of analysis, and propose solutions that address expressed needs within the project or related system.
  • Very strong data analysis skills. Ability to detect changes and trends and determine their importance.
  • Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations require evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult and diverse assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers to resolve technical issues and offer effective solutions.
  • Team player, self-motivated, self-learner, good organizing skills

PAY TRANSPARENCY
Shure offers a competitive compensation structure that is reviewed annually to attract, hire, and retain the industry's top talent. Base salaries vary based on qualifications, geography, experience, and expertise in each respective discipline. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for the opportunity. The base salary for this position ranges from $82,300 to $131,700. If your salary expectations do not align, still apply as we are often flexible on the seniority of posted positions. All positions also include an award-winning benefits package.
