Full Job Description
Forsyth Medical Center is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our Emergency Department team and provide dedicated clinical support for our Observation Unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with emergency department experience who enjoys caring for a diverse patient population, working in a fast-paced environment, and collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team. Position Highlights • Practice within the Emergency Department Observation Unit • Rotating 12-hour shifts to support 24/7 clinical operations • Evaluate and manage patients appropriate for observation-level care • Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans • Order and interpret diagnostic testing • Reassess patients throughout their observation stay and determine appropriate disposition • Collaborate with Emergency Medicine physicians and multidisciplinary care teams • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and timely disposition We are looking for an APP who: • Is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) eligible for practice in North Carolina • Has prior Emergency Department experience • Is comfortable managing acute and undifferentiated medical conditions • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills • Thrives in a high-acuity, team-oriented environment • Communicates effectively with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals • Is adaptable and comfortable working rotating 12-hour shifts This role offers the opportunity to become an integral part of a collaborative Emergency Medicine team while helping expand and enhance observation-level care.
