Job Title: Electrical Support Engineer - Critical Power Systems

Job Description:

As Electrical Support Engineer - Critical Power Systems, you will primarily serve as a technical support interface between external customers and Trystar, including installers, engineers, integrators, owners, and maintenance electricians. This role also supports internal customers such as the Sales, Customer Experience, Engineering, Operations, and Quality. In this role you will routinely utilize troubleshooting skills, a working knowledge of electrical principles, power electronics circuits, software, and networking. This role will closely collaborate with other technical support team members, across Trystar sites, and with the field service team. In this role you will get to:

  • Receive support requests via phone, email, and website
  • Provide real-time support for installers, contractors, maintenance personnel
  • Manage support tickets utilizing SalesForce Service Cloud case management systems
  • Become familiar with a broad array of product types across Trystar's expanding portfolio
  • Regularly collaborate with Subject Matter Experts and Engineering for each product series
  • Assess, build, compile, and organize support library resources
  • Coordinate with, provide regular direction, and remote support to field service technicians and engineers - both direct and 3rd party resources - in preparation for and while at the job site.
  • Occasional travel or after hours/weekend support required


Qualifications:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, specialty in Power Engineering
  • Experience 5-10+ years in power generation/critical power engineering or support for applications involving generators, renewable energy integration, power inverters and battery energy storage systems
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC, and UL standards for: NFPA 110 (EPSS), NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 99, NFPA101, UL 891, UL924, UL1008, UL 1558, UL1741
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, project specifications, equipment specifications and manuals
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to communicate with a broad range of customer types and backgrounds
  • Relentless customer focus and drive to serve the customer
  • Established skills in real-time troubleshooting and fault isolation methods and problem solving
  • Familiarity with construction documents processes and construction sites and/or industrial processes and applications as it relates to power generation, backup, and distribution
  • Experience working within CRM, ERP, Excel, Word and other common business software tools
