The Electrical Engineer supports the Integrated Broadcast Service Enterprise Services (IBS-ES) program by maintaining and evaluating the IW/CIB Integration Testbed, analyzing waveform-level impacts on CIB operations, and supporting operational troubleshooting and optimization efforts. This role provides technical expertise to assess proposed changes, monitor system performance, and represent IBS-ES interests in stakeholder engagements. The engineer also supports cross-site system monitoring, automation efforts, and backfills key operational roles as needed.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the IW/CIB Integration Testbed to support integration testing, risk assessment, and evaluation of IW and CIB operational impacts.
- Provide test environments, data, and technical support for CIB terminal vendors, including UCTS-enabled testing and validation activities.
- Conduct laboratory testing of CIB-PT capabilities and assess risks associated with IWCS changes, upgrades, and service allocations.
- Monitor Downlink Monitoring Equipment (DME) and analyze system logs to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve CIB and IWCS performance, availability, and reliability issues.
- Investigate operational anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and assess impacts across IBS-ES, CIB, and related enterprise services.
- Review incident and trouble tickets to identify trends, misclassified issues, and potential impacts to operational broadcasting and communications services.
- Represent IBS-ES in stakeholder forums, provide technical recommendations, develop white papers, and communicate operational impacts of planned system changes.
- Track and report engineering activities, issue resolution efforts, and system performance metrics to government and operational stakeholders.
- Provide cross-site operational support for systems and services across multiple locations, ensuring continuous availability and mission readiness.
- Coordinate change management activities, vulnerability scans, patch management, and system maintenance while minimizing operational impacts.
- Support software development, system modernization, and RF suite optimization initiatives to improve operational effectiveness and mission support.
- Develop and enhance automation tools and analytical processes to improve log analysis, reduce manual workload, and increase accuracy of system health and uptime reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: TS with SCI eligibility
- BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Technical troubleshooting and network performance tuning experience.
- Experience with DoD UHF SATCOM systems, protocols and methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills.
