Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical systems engineering for power generation or storage applications.
  • Proven ability in designing generator interconnections and accompanying studies.
  • Strong understanding of islanded operation dynamics, especially concerning stability and protection.
  • Experience in integrating inverter-based and rotating resources in energy systems.
  • Hands-on involvement in plant design and commissioning processes.
  • Familiarity with microgrid controls and grid interconnection standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer the electrical components for behind-the-meter generation systems.
  • Design electrical balance of plant including connections, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Conduct studies for both islanded operation and grid-parallel function to ensure system stability.
  • Integrate generation and storage systems to create a unified controllable campus.
  • Run simulations and assessments for protection coordination and grounding strategies.

Benefits

Full Job Description
Role Scope
  • Engineer the electrical side of behind-the-meter generation: collection, interconnection, and integration with the data center.
  • Design the electrical balance of plant: generator connections, transformers, and switchgear for fast-build plants.
  • Run the studies for islanded and grid-parallel operation: stability, grounding, and protection coordination.
  • Integrate storage and generation electrically into one controllable campus system.
What We're Looking For
  • The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
  • You've engineered electrical systems for power generation, microgrids, or utility-scale storage.
  • You've designed generator interconnections and the studies behind them.
  • You understand islanded operation and what it does to protection and stability.
  • You've integrated inverter-based resources with rotating machines.
  • You've taken plant designs through commissioning.
  • Bonus: Microgrid controls. Grid codes and interconnection standards. PSCAD or PSSE. BESS electrical design.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
