Quality Lead Location: East Canton, Ohio
As Quality Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring product consistency, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining the integrity of the plant's quality management systems. Based at our East Canton refractory manufacturing facility, you will lead a team of quality technicians, partner closely with production and technical teams, and help shape strategic decisions that impact plant performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do- Lead and promote a strong culture of safety, ensuring all quality activities align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Plan and execute internal quality audits while coordinating external certification activities.
- Analyze process and quality data to identify trends, reduce variation, and improve product consistency.
- Partner with production, technical, and customer-facing teams to investigate and resolve quality-related issues.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of quality technicians, fostering accountability and professional growth.
- Track, report, and communicate key quality metrics to support operational and strategic decision-making.
What You Bring- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality assurance, or a related industrial environment. Experience in refractories, ceramics, metals, or materials processing is highly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO quality systems, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes.
- Proven ability to analyze data, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or a related technical field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software tools.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple functions.
