Full Job Description

The Director of US Patient Marketing will lead patient facing media strategy, execution, analytics, and major innovation initiatives. This role owns the full-funnel media ecosystem and will be accountable and responsible for ensuring integrated, data-driven patient engagement across all channels.

This leader will also serve as the patient owner of media measurement, metrics governance, and performance optimization, with direct accountability for media investments to patient engagement and business outcomes. In addition, this role will drive innovation in marketing technology and capabilities, and partner closely with IT and analytics operations to enable scalable data, analytics, and operational infrastructure to support best-in-class media execution and measurement.

As a member of the US brand marketing team, this is a highly cross-functional leadership role partnering with Commercial Analytics, Market Research, Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR), Privacy, IT, and external agency partners.

This position will report directly into the US Patient Marketing Lead. This individual must have the ability to contribute strategically as a thought partner, but also work independently as a leader of activities to flawlessly execute the patient tactical plan. It is imperative that this person drive performance and marketing excellence through partnership and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Media & Digital Accountability

  • Own end-to-end patient media strategy to ensure consistent reach, frequency, and storytelling across platforms.

  • Manage all media planning, buying, optimization, performance measurement, including audience targeting, as well as associated budget. 

  • Define audience strategies using claims-based data, behavioral insights, contextual targeting, and first-party data.

Analytics, Metrics & Performance Optimization

  • Own all marketing and media metrics, measurement frameworks, and performance optimization

  • Lead design and governance of KPIs across media, ensuring consistent definitions and reporting standards.

  • Develop and maintain a unified measurement framework connecting digital engagement to patient outcomes.

  • Own dashboards and performance reporting for patient.

  • Partner with Commercial Analytics and Data Science teams to integrate media, CRM, web, and claims-based data.

  • Develop and lead testing frameworks

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for brand strategy and investment decisions.

  • Drive continuous optimization of media performance through structured learning agendas.

Innovation & Marketing Technology

  • Lead evaluation, piloting, and scaling of emerging marketing technologies and capabilities.

  • Develop use cases across targeting, personalization, creative optimization, and analytics.

  • Partner closely with IT to enable operational capabilities, data infrastructure, and scalable marketing technology systems to support media execution and measurement.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve automation, reporting efficiency, and predictive analytics.

  • Stay current on healthcare media, data, and technology innovations and translate them into actionable strategies.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of U.S. pharmaceutical brand marketing experience.

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience managing/leading pharmaceutical patient media

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Statistics, Communications, or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare marketing.

  • Mature metrics governance and performance measurement framework.

  • 2+ years of hands-on patient media experience in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting.

  • Strong background in media analytics, attribution, testing, and performance optimization.

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries with MLR review processes.

  • Strong alignment between media investment and patient engagement outcomes.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree.

  • Experience launching or supporting specialty, cardiovascular, or complex pharmaceutical brands.

  • Experience building omnichannel measurement frameworks

  • Experience working with IT/data engineering teams on marketing technology infrastructure.

  • Experience in black box, REMs, rare disease and/or specialty pharma is a plus.

This position, based out of South San Francisco, CA or Radnor, PA, will report directly into the US Patient Marketing Lead

Pay Range:

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary locations of South San Francisco, CA or Radnor, PA is $225,000-$262,500. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. Base salary is just one component of our competitive total compensation package, which includes equity in the form of stock options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. Note that benefits are subject to change and may vary based on jurisdiction of employment.
