Full Job Description
Title: Director, Technology Services

We are currently looking for a Director, Technology Services, to join our Technology Services team in Toronto. Under the leadership of the President and CEO, the Director will provide leadership and strategic oversight of the Technology Services department by establishing policies, procedures, systems, and processes that reflect best practices and meet AMI's technological objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction in the company wide application and use of technology at AMI to meet both current and future business requirements of the organization, including traditional IT services, broadcast, and operational support.
  • Establish the organizational structure and workforce plan for the Technology Services department to ensure the department has the capabilities required to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity, privacy, risk management, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Establish and monitor technical KPI's to ensure strategies are executed effectively and report on progress. Provide recommendations on potential enhancements.
  • Champion accessible technology practices that support AMI's mission.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to improve audience experience, operational efficiency, and accessibility outcomes.
  • Protect AMI and its assets by developing and maintaining systems of controls.
  • Oversee the research and identification of the technical infrastructure and initiatives to support emerging platforms and technologies that will support and drive AMI's mandate and the direction of the organization to respond to changing systems, industry trends and technological advances.
  • Support the financial objectives of the organization by developing and managing the Technology Services operating budget, including preparing an annual plan, forecasting, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to align technology initiatives with business priorities.
  • Lead strategic vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and procurement activities.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Professional certifications in technology management, cybersecurity, project management, cloud technologies, or related disciplines are considered assets.
  • 10 years+ of progressive experience in technology services.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of broadcast and IT technical standards. Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, team-building and collaborative skills.
  • Organizational planning time management, and detail-orientation skills.
  • Excellent financial and budget management skills.
  • Strong risk assessment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused recommendations.
  • Bilingual French/English preferred.
