Role SummaryFanatics Collectibles is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead day-to-day execution, with a focus on our Entertainment portfolio. With additional licenses expected to come online, this leader will help scale how licensed trading-card products are developed and brought to market.
The Director will lead an existing team of project management professionals while building the processes, operating rhythms, and cross-functional alignment needed to support a growing portfolio. This is a builder-operator role requiring someone who can resolve immediate execution challenges while creating a more predictable and scalable project management function.
The ideal candidate has led teams in licensed physical products, consumer products, entertainment merchandise, or a similarly complex product-development environment. They are comfortable navigating external licensor requirements, shifting dependencies, and high-visibility launches.
What you will be doing...- Lead and develop the Entertainment project management team: Set priorities, clarify ownership, coach team members, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive portfolio execution: Oversee the end-to-end development and launch of multiple licensed trading-card properties, ensuring dependencies, milestones, risks, and decisions remain visible and actively managed.
- Resolve complex execution challenges: Serve as a senior escalation point for product-development and launch issues, bringing together internal teams and external partners to reach timely solutions.
- Build scalable operations: Improve project management processes, tools, reporting, and communication practices to support portfolio growth and make execution more consistent and predictable.
- Manage cross-functional and licensor alignment: Partner closely with product teams, executives, and external licensors, including partners who may be unfamiliar with trading-card development.
- Strengthen risk management: Anticipate potential issues, develop mitigation plans, and communicate portfolio risks and tradeoffs clearly to senior leadership.
What you will bring...- 10+ years progressive experience leading complex project or program management within licensed physical products, consumer products, entertainment merchandise, or a related environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing project management professionals.
- Track record of improving processes while maintaining accountability for active, fast-moving work.
- Experience navigating external licensors, intellectual-property requirements, or other dependencies outside the organization's direct control.
- Strong executive communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to bring structure and clarity to evolving, ambiguous, or high-pressure environments.
- Experience with project tracking, forecasting, and portfolio-reporting tools; direct experience with Workfront or Airtable is helpful but not required.
- Interest in sports, entertainment, trading cards, or collectibles is a plus.
