As GE Appliances' Director, Product Management - Residential HVAC & Ductless Portfolio you will lead product management for the Residential HVAC portfolio within the broader Residential Products organization, with direct responsibility for the Ductless product line and leadership oversight of the product managers supporting residential ducted systems. This role translates broader residential product strategy into a 3 - 5-year HVAC roadmap, portfolio priorities, and cross-functional execution plans that support growth, profitability, and market competitiveness. In partnership with Residential Products leadership and key functional stakeholders, this leader guides category direction, lifecycle decisions, and commercialization priorities while developing product management talent and driving disciplined execution across the business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Lead Residential HVAC portfolio strategy and operating plans
  • Lead development and execution of the 3 - 5-year product roadmap and operating plan for Residential HVAC in alignment with broader Residential Products strategy.
  • Direct product strategy and execution for the Ductless portfolio while guiding portfolio priorities and decision-making across residential ducted indoor and outdoor systems through leadership of assigned product managers.
  • Recommend portfolio actions including product introductions, refreshes, rationalization, pricing priorities, and lifecycle plans to improve growth, profitability, and market performance.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through market analysis, competitive assessment, customer insights, and business performance review.
  • Develop business cases and portfolio recommendations that support informed investment, timing, and prioritization decisions.


Drive cross-functional execution and business delivery
  • Drive cross-functional execution across engineering, sourcing, quality, sales, marketing, finance, supply chain, operations, service, and international partners to deliver product and business commitments.
  • Translate HVAC portfolio priorities into actionable launch plans, product transitions, inventory coordination, and channel readiness activities.
  • Influence business decisions by providing data-driven recommendations on roadmap priorities, product positioning, market segmentation, pricing considerations, and commercialization actions.
  • Partner with Residential Products leadership, Commercial, Sales, and Operations teams to align HVAC priorities with broader business plans and customer requirements.
  • Surface risks, tradeoffs, and execution gaps early and lead resolution plans that support on-time, high-quality delivery.


Lead and develop the Residential HVAC product management team
  • Lead, coach, and develop product management resources across Residential HVAC, including the product managers responsible for residential ducted indoor and outdoor systems.
  • Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and operating rhythms to align team execution with category goals and business commitments.
  • Provide ongoing direction and feedback to strengthen product management capability in roadmap planning, commercialization, lifecycle management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Build alignment across the HVAC product management team on decision frameworks, portfolio governance, launch discipline, and business case quality.


Lead product lifecycle management and new product introduction
  • Lead new product introduction efforts for the Ductless portfolio and provide leadership oversight for aligned execution across ducted systems.
  • Support end-to-end product lifecycle management across the assigned Residential HVAC portfolio, from concept definition through commercialization, sustainment, and end-of-life planning.
  • Ensure product specifications, quality expectations, cost targets, timing commitments, compliance requirements, and agency certifications are achieved in coordination with cross-functional teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen cost position, feature competitiveness, quality performance, and customer value.
  • Use technical, financial, and market data to inform product enhancements and portfolio decisions.


Strengthen market and customer impact
  • Lead voice-of-customer integration into HVAC product planning, roadmap development, and portfolio decisions.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to strengthen channel engagement, product value communication, training effectiveness, and launch readiness.
  • Guide development of technical and sales enablement materials that support successful commercialization and product transitions.
  • Represent Residential HVAC product management in internal reviews, customer discussions, and key planning forums as needed.


Other related duties as assigned:
  • Support strategic planning reviews, portfolio deep dives, and leadership presentations related to Residential HVAC and broader Residential Products priorities.
  • Participate in special projects that improve portfolio management practices, commercialization effectiveness, or cross-functional planning.

Educational and Experiential Background
  • 10+ years experience in product management, category management, engineering, marketing, or business leadership in HVAC or a related technical product environment.

  • Experience leading cross-functional product or portfolio initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Experience with product roadmap planning, lifecycle management, commercialization, and new product introduction.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills, with the ability to translate market and business data into clear recommendations and action plans.


Preferred Education/Experience
  • HVAC licensure or formal education in technical field related to HVAC
  • Experience in residential HVAC, including ductless and ducted indoor and outdoor systems.
  • Experience with pricing, market segmentation, channel strategy, or go-to-market planning.
  • Experience working with engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, quality, or global supply partners.
  • Experience with regulatory, compliance, and agency certification requirements relevant to HVAC products.
