Full Job Description
We are looking for a Director of Security for our growing team.

This position is located in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

Department Summary:

The Director of Security provides senior oversight and leadership to Program, Personnel, Industrial and Operations Security at all Janicki sites, relating to the safeguarding and security of company contracted programs, assets, and employees; ensures established goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed priorities, time limitations and fiscal responsibilities; advises, makes recommendations, and assists in the formulation of goals and objectives; designs, implements and monitors security policies, procedures and programs; complies with federal regulations; and exercises independent judgment in the course of carrying out overall responsibilities and other activities as assigned.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership, guidance, and professional development for a large team of managers and security professionals. Ensures that the team fosters a cohesive and collaborative environment where diversity and innovation are encouraged
  • Interfaces with all levels of corporate and government management personnel for all pertinent security issues
  • Coordinates with senior leadership to resolve issues that could impact the security and compliance of employees, facilities, operations, and programs
  • Evaluates current procedures, practices, and precedents for accomplishing Janicki Industry activities and functions relative to security and develops and implements alternative methods when improvements are required
  • Identifies and resolves security-related problems
  • Responsible for the planning, management, and execution of direct and indirect Security budget
  • Performs audits of security-related performance and conducts physical surveys of premises security, including security equipment condition
  • Conducts and participates in all applicable security inspections (internal and external), and implements necessary actions to correct deficiencies
  • Communicates with Government agencies on a continuous basis to obtain approvals and maintains compliance with applicable regulations
  • Initiates personnel actions such as recruitment, selections, transfers, promotions, and discipline or dismissal measures
  • Prepares work schedules; assigns or delegates responsibilities
  • Provides work directives for subordinates
  • Sets deadlines to ensure completion of all security functions
  • Works well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Punctual and maintains good attendance
  • Responsible for the Export Compliance program at Janicki
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 10 years of security-related experience in U.S. Government security policies and regulations, to include Defense, State, Commerce, and Treasury department programs including, but not limited to NISPOM, DSS, SAP, ITAR, EAR, and OFAC
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is required


Detailed Wage Information

Wage range for this role is between $140K - 200K, plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki's estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
