POSITION SUMMARY
This Finance Marketing Director position is a strategic finance leader supporting the Global Marketing Organization’s (GMO) Customer Marketing Group, with primary focus on the Creativity & Productivity (C&P) marketing organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data-Informed Decision Making & Strategic Business Partnership
- Provide strategic finance leadership for the GMO VP of Customer Marketing, supporting the C&P marketing organization (Business Professionals & Consumers and Creators & Creative Professionals teams).
- Serve as a proactive thought partner to marketing leadership, shifting discussions from reporting results to understanding drivers, implications, and actions.
- Guide cross-functional alignment of investment priorities and strategic decisions across Product Marketing, Go-to-Market, GMO, and Finance leadership teams.
- Deliver recurring business reviews and executive reporting that translate financial and marketing trends into clear business implications and recommended actions.
2. Marketing Effectiveness & Investment Optimization
- Proactively identify diminishing returns, underperforming investments, and budget reallocation opportunities to improve marketing value and investment efficiency.
- Partner closely with Product Marketing and Growth Marketing Insights (GMI) teams to evaluate performance trends and optimize marketing investments across the funnel.
- Build and maintain an executive-level Marketing Return on Investment scorecard, providing leadership with ongoing insight into program performance and spend efficiency.
3. Budget Management & Financial Planning
- Own end-to-end financial management of variable marketing budget (>$1B annually), lead quarterly forecast cycles, risk and opportunity assessments, and scenario planning.
- Establish investment guardrails, approval workflows, and budget shifts that balance financial control with the agility modern marketing demands.
4. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, focused analytical rigor, business partnership, and continuous improvement.
- Represent marketing finance in cross-functional leadership forums, including the Finance Leadership Team, GMO and C&P marketing leadership meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Required
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with a strong background in topline product/go-to-market finance and/or marketing finance role within a consumer-facing business.
- Demonstrated expertise evaluating marketing efficiency, including experience with multi-channel investment analysis, attribution methodologies, and/or media mix modeling.
- Proven track record leading new financial capabilities, processes, and ways of working within marketing finance and/or FP&A environments.
- Advanced financial modeling skills; proficiency in Excel and planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, SAP).
- Experience with BI and visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI).
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $148,500 -- $302,850 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $209,100 - $302,850
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
