Role:Northwood Space is seeking a Director, International Growth to drive growth across Northwood's international customer base and help shape the company's strategy in support of sovereign and allied space priorities. This person will lead Northwood's engagement across priority international accounts, develop deep relationships across foreign government and allied commercial space ecosystems, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership, product, engineering, and mission teams as we expand our footprint in these markets.
The right candidate will bring a strong understanding of international space market dynamics, sovereign procurement pathways, and global partnership structures, and will help Northwood not only win new business, but also shape where and how the company invests, prioritizes, and delivers in support of international markets.
Responsibilities:- Drive end-to-end business development and growth across Northwood's international customer base, from early customer engagement and opportunity shaping through contract award and follow-on expansion
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across foreign government space agencies, sovereign programs, and allied commercial operators, including executives, technical leaders, procurement officials, and industry partners
- Create and execute account and campaign strategies for priority international customers, sovereign opportunities, and global partnerships
- Identify, shape, and pursue opportunities aligned to Northwood's capabilities in areas such as sovereign space communications, ground infrastructure, and international market access
- Partner closely with product, engineering, mission management, and leadership teams to translate international customer and partner needs into company strategy, technical positioning, capture, and successful program execution
- Provide insight into international space market dynamics, export control considerations, funding structures, and customer requirements to inform Northwood's product direction and long-term growth plans
- Navigate ITAR/EAR and other export control frameworks in structuring international opportunities and partnerships
Basic Qualifications:- 10+ years of experience in business development, growth, capture, program strategy, or related roles supporting or serving international government or commercial space customers
- Experience developing, shaping, or executing complex technical programs or opportunities relevant to sovereign or international customers, with knowledge of international space markets, procurement dynamics, and partnership structures
- Ability to work in-person in Los Angeles or Washington, DC; ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience working with or within sovereign space programs, allied government space initiatives, or international commercial space operators
- Experience supporting or operating in mission areas such as sovereign space communications, ground infrastructure, or international data transport
- Experience engaging with foreign government stakeholders, international prime contractors, or global partner organizations on business-critical needs
- Experience navigating ITAR/EAR and other export control frameworks for international space opportunities
- Experience at an early-stage space or space-adjacent company
- Established relationships across sovereign space programs, international operators, and global industry partners
