Job Description

The Director, Employee Experience is a player & coach responsible for shaping and advancing the employee experience at Tricon, bringing the company’s commitment to Out-Caring to life through meaningful programs, communications, recognition, listening strategies and experiences that strengthen connection, engagement and culture across the organization. They are a key steward of the employee experience, translating Tricon’s culture, purpose and Guiding Principles into a cohesive enterprise experience that is relevant across corporate and field environments.

The Director possesses a sophisticated understanding of organizational culture and employee experience, balancing enterprise consistency with local relevance. Through data, employee insights and business perspective, the Director, Employee Experience continuously elevates the employee experience, strengthens organizational connection and helps differentiate Tricon as an employer of choice.

The office is located in Tustin, California, in the heart of Orange County - surrounded by thriving business parks, great dining and retail, and close to nearby hubs like Irvine and Newport Beach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee Experience Framework & Leadership

  • Shape and advance Tricons enterprise Employee Experience framework, ensuring programs, communications and experiences are aligned with business priorities, culture and the employee lifecycle.

  • Translate employee experience priorities into compelling, integrated deliverables, establishing clear outcomes, measures of success, timelines, resources and accountabilities.

  • Anticipate evolving employee needs, organizational challenges and cultural opportunities, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen the employee experience.

  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Tricons culture and employee experience philosophy.

Culture, Connection & Employee Programs

  • Bring Tricons culture, purpose, Out-Caring philosophy and Guiding Principles to life through enterprise-wide programs, campaigns and experiences that create meaningful moments of connection and reinforce what makes Tricon unique.

  • Lead the evolution of employee programs and experiences across key moments in the employee lifecycle, ensuring they are relevant, engaging and aligned with Tricons culture.

  • Oversee enterprise and regional recognition programs and awards, continually elevating their impact and ensuring employees feel genuinely recognized and valued.

  • Lead employee care, well-being and support initiatives in partnership with HR and business leaders, ensuring sensitive employee moments are managed with empathy, discretion and thoughtful follow-through.

Employee Listening, Insights & Engagement

  • Lead initiatives and approach for understanding the employee experience through engagement surveys, pulse surveys, listening sessions, focus groups and other feedback mechanisms.

  • Translate employee feedback and experience data into meaningful insights, identifying themes, opportunities and risks for leadership consideration.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to identify trends, challenge assumptions and continuously improve the employee experience.

Employee Communications & Experience

  • Partner with Communications, Marketing, HR and business leaders to maintain a cohesive employee communications and consistent organizational voice.Elevate the quality and impact of employee communications through strong storytelling, thoughtful messaging and a clear understanding of the employee audience.

  • Ensure communications and experiences are connected rather than operating as standalone initiatives, creating a more seamless and intentional employee journey.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish a disciplined approach to evaluating the effectiveness and impact of Employee Experience programs, leveraging participation, sentiment, feedback and business outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, modernize and enhance existing programs and experiences based on employee needs, emerging practices and organizational priorities.

  • Continuously benchmark and bring forward innovative approaches, tools and practices that strengthen Tricons employee experience and employer brand.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-level employee experience, culture, engagement, internal communications and HR programs within a complex organization.

  • Proven ability to translate organizational strategy and culture into compelling employee programs, experiences and communications.

  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative partnerships across functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to use employee data, feedback and insights to identify trends, inform decisions and drive measurable improvement.

  • Strong program and project leadership capabilities, including experience managing budgets, vendors, competing priorities, risks and complex dependencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, organizational development, communications, hospitality, business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in employee experience, employee engagement, organizational culture, HR programs, internal communications, organizational development or a related discipline, including significant experience in a leadership capacity.

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives across multiple functions and/or geographic locations.

  • Ability to travel periodically and support employee events outside standard business hours when required.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience leading Employee Experience or culture strategies within a geographically dispersed, multi-site or field-based organization.

  • Strong understanding of employee listening methodologies, engagement measurement, experience analytics and feedback platforms.

  • Experience integrating employee communications, recognition, culture, engagement and employee programs into a cohesive employee experience strategy.

  • Highly credible, collaborative and approachable, with the judgment to navigate sensitive and complex organizational matters.

  • Naturally curious and employee-centered, with a strong understanding of what creates meaningful moments throughout the employee experience.

  • A strong storyteller and communicator who can inspire others around a shared vision for the employee experience.

Work Schedule: This is a hybrid role, with a combination of in-office and remote work in accordance with company guidelines.

Salary Range

Placement within this compensation range will be determined by the candidate's knowledge, experience and skills.

$141,150.00 - $235,250.00
