Full Job Description
Role Summary:

As Director, Data Enablement, you will architect and evolve reusable enterprise platforms, tools, and services that help users and applications discover, understand, and securely consume trusted data products.

You will set technical direction for data portals, APIs, software development kits and consumption services; advance adoption across departments; and establish scalable operating practices, architecture standards and engineering excellence. Reporting details were not provided.

Accountabilities & Qualifications:

CPP Investments' technology and data functions build secure, scalable enterprise capabilities that support investment, analytics, research and operational needs across the organization. The Data Enablement Team helps the organization derive value from enterprise data by delivering reusable platforms, tools and services, including the enterprise Data Portal, the FinSights BI Portal, low-latency consumption services, product governance capabilities and operational dashboards.

Accountabilities
  • Architect, design and evolve reusable Data Enablement services, with measurable outcomes for data discovery, access, trust and adoption
  • Engage users and stakeholders across departments to understand their needs, promote available services and shape a multi-quarter product roadmap
  • Design secure, resilient and scalable services using DevSecOps, automation, service-level objectives, observability and effective incident response practices
  • Develop high-level and low-level solution designs, including threat models where required, and obtain Architecture Review Board and Information Security approvals
  • Partner with Cloud Foundation, Data Foundation, domain teams and control functions to deliver solutions aligned with enterprise standards and platform guardrails
  • Establish architecture standards for portals, APIs, software development kits and consumption services that integrate with the Enterprise Data Fabric and data catalogue
  • Own the operating model for consumer enablement services while coaching Lead and Senior Engineers and strengthening delivery, engineering and operational excellence

What You Bring
  • 10+ years of experience building and operating enterprise platforms or shared services, including web portals and API ecosystems
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud platform engineering, including networking, security, identity and access management, and multi-account environments
  • Expertise in API and service-based architectures, including REST or GraphQL, event-driven patterns, Neptune, OpenAPI standards, versioning, backward compatibility and resiliency
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps practices, such as Terraform, continuous integration and delivery, automated security controls and observability
  • Experience with solution architecture, platform governance, Architecture Review Board processes and Information Security engagement
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional delivery, influence without authority, develop engineering talent and align stakeholders around measurable enterprise outcomes
  • Experience with structured data and schema processing; knowledge of semantic modelling, agentic frameworks, retrieval methods, vector search, container platforms or governed data-serving technologies is an asset. Relevant AWS certifications are preferred
