Full Job Description
Overview:

The Pluto TV Content Operations team intakes, prepares, and publishes every title on our streaming service. We are a global team, based in the US, South America, and Europe. Each year we support twelve regional instances and tens of thousands of assets for hundreds of partners!

We are seeking a Director, Content Operations to guide our US content workflows and team. This role is a true team leader! You will be based in the United States. You will build a skilled, accountable team that keeps growing. You will also be our main voice with partners and teams.

You will own the US content pipeline: partner onboarding, ingestion, QC, metadata, packaging, and publishing. Every title ships on schedule, to spec, and at the highest quality! You will also scale the team wisely: developing talent, refining processes, and managing capacity. That way we handle more volume at the same quality and speed.

Operational excellence is the standard you set and keep. That means a pipeline that runs smoothly at scale, partners who get clear guidance, and a team energized by finding better ways to work. The ideal candidate pairs a talent for growing people with deep technical skill. You love to invent and automate, using cloud tools and data to build operations that scale.

You will work closely with Content Partnerships, Programming, Product, Marketing, and Pluto TV Streaming Operations. You will keep improving the Pluto TV viewer experience. You will also align with our International Content Operations leads in Europe and South America. That keeps global standards, best practices, and one way of working.

Responsibilities:

Content Delivery & Operational Workflow Leadership

  • Oversee the U.S. content operations production workflow, including onboarding, asset delivery, QC, metadata, artwork, closed captions, audio, ad-break structure, and final publishing.
  • Partner with Programming and Content Partnerships to ensure content scheduling, delivery forecasts, and launch timelines are aligned with platform and partner expectations.
  • Maintain deep expertise in Pluto TV's evolving deliverable specifications (video, audio, captions, artwork, metadata, UUID's, ad markers, localization assets etc.).
  • Support localization pipelines and delivery of multi-language assets across global markets.
  • Document, maintain, and continuously refine operational workflows, SLAs, SOPs, and cross-functional
    communication processes.

Team Leadership & Performance Management

  • Coach and grow a skilled team with clear goals.
  • Plan capacity, coverage, and top tasks.
  • Build a good culture that adapts fast.

Partner & Vendor Management

  • Manage daily communication with content partners, labs and preferred vendors.
  • Oversee vendor bidding, cost analysis, rate negotiations, and operational performance reviews.
  • Ensure partner expectations are met regarding deadlines, technical requirements, and quality standards.

Cross-Regional Collaboration

  • Align U.S. Operations with LatAm/Brazil/Canada and European Content Operations leads on standards, tooling, vendor usage, quality baselines, and global workflows.
  • Drive consistency across regions while supporting local market nuances (content regulations, ratings practices, localization requirements, etc.).
  • Participate in global operations meetings and task forces supporting Paramount's shared streaming infrastructure.

Operational Analytics & KPI's

  • Track KPIs for output, quality, pace, and partner trust.
  • Build forecasts, budget plans, and staffing plans, and help fix supply chain gaps.

Technology, Tooling & Systems Expertise

  • Maintain proficiency with MAM/CMS tools, cloud-based infrastructures and delivery systems, and automated ingestion workflows (S3, FTP, API, JSON/XML/MRSS feed ingestion).
  • Partner with Content Systems Product and Engineering to define features that enhance Pluto TV's content supply chain, automation capabilities, and operational observability.
  • Ensure operational requirements are represented in tooling roadmaps and platform updates.

Compliance & Standards

  • Follow FCC and platform rules for captions, access, and children's content.
  • Keep up with U.S. and global content rules, ad limits, and ratings.
