Full Job Description
The Director of Clinical Biomarkers will provide scientific and strategic leadership for biomarker activities across BeiGene's clinical pipeline. In partnership with cross-functional teams, external collaborators, and vendors, the Director will develop and execute biomarker strategies across preclinical and clinical programs, including scientific objectives, experimental validation, timelines, and budgets.

The Director will also evaluate and advance novel biomarker technologies, translating emerging science into actionable strategies that support clinical development, patient selection, and precision medicine. The successful candidate will bring deep scientific expertise in biomarker platforms, strong communication and leadership skills, demonstrated scientific impact, and the ability to influence program strategy across a complex, global organization.

Essential Functions of the job:

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and/or develop the following areas collaboratively (internally and/or through third-party):
    1. Development and implementation of biomarker strategies
    2. Assessment of novel biomarker platforms
    3. Support of clinical protocol development
    4. KOL & collaborator engagement for biomarkers development
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external experts
  • Identify continuous process improvement opportunities
  • Develop, track, execute and report on goals and objectives
  • Support budget planning and management
  • Be accountable for compliant business practices


Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (e.g., PhD) in a clinical or scientific discipline, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • 7+ years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience, including 3+ years in biomarker research, development, or strategy.
  • Deep expertise in clinical biomarkers and translational research, preferably in hematology, oncology, or immunology; AML experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead biomarker strategies that inform clinical development and key program decisions.
  • Strong understanding of biomarker implementation, including scientific, operational, budget, and timeline considerations.
  • Working knowledge of companion diagnostic (CDx) development and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience evaluating and applying novel biomarker technologies and platforms, particularly in hematology.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead across cross-functional and global teams, align stakeholders, and communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Salary Range: $176,600.00 - $236,600.00 annually
