Job Summary:
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Director, AI Innovation & Infrastructure is responsible for Red River Software's technical foundation and future readiness.
This role owns:
• Cloud infrastructure
• Platform architecture
• DevOps & TechOps
• Reliability, scalability, and security
• AI enablement and innovation platforms

The Director ensures the platform can scale globally, support complex hardware-integrated workflows, and enable rapid experimentation and deployment of AI-driven capabilities.

Job Description:

Role Responsibilities

PLATFORM & INFRASTRUCTURE OWNERSHIP - 35%
  • Own RRS's cloud architecture, infrastructure, and runtime environments.
  • Lead our new multi-tenant platform and the modernization efforts of existing applications.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, and security.
  • Define and maintain infrastructure and platform standards.

DEVOPS & TECHNICAL OPERATIONS - 25%
  • Lead DevOps and TechOps functions.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, observability, and monitoring.
  • Ensure strong operational readiness, incident response, and on-call practices.
  • Reduce operational risk while improving deployment velocity.

AI PLATFORM & INNOVATION ENABLEMENT - 20%
  • Lead AI experimentation, new product development, and platform enablement.
  • Build infrastructure and tooling to support AI/ML workflows, data pipelines, and model deployment.
  • Partner with Customer Experience to operationalize our products' AI features safely and responsibly.
  • Stay current with AI advancements and assess their applicability to RRS's platform.


ARCHITECTURAL GOVERNANCE & TECHNICAL DIRECTION - 10%
  • Define the long-term technical strategy in partnership with leadership.
  • Review and approve architectural changes that impact scalability or reliability.
  • Reduce systemic technical debt and complexity across the platform.
  • Ensure consistency across services, environments, and integrations.


CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP - 10%
  • Work closely with Customer Experience to support feature delivery.
  • Partner with Operations on cross-cutting initiatives.
  • Support Customer Experience and Professional Services with platform-level insights and improvements.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior technical leadership.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms, distributed systems, and SaaS infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML platforms or large-scale data systems.
  • Strong background in DevOps, reliability engineering, and security.
  • Ability to balance innovation with operational excellence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Deep understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, cloud-native engineering, and event-driven systems.
  • Ability to drive technical execution and deliver high-quality software at scale.
