Summary:The Director, Advanced Practice Provider Services is responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of APP Services at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, identifying and executing a variety of operational and strategic initiatives that optimize the support of our locations, with three primary goals:
1) Strengthening the operational and financial performance of the practice through APP integration in patient care
2) Developing an operational framework that positions the organization as a preferred employer of APPs wishing to practice in the oncology community setting
3) Improving the quality of multi-disciplinary, high-value care through maximizing the role of APPs within our sites
Competitive candidates will have knowledge of organizational design and execution supported by business pro-forma justifying key infrastructure and organizational investments. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, including ease in working with both physicians and corporate executives (such as content experts in coding, operations, contracting, finance, education, and research).
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development of the APP Program• Development of the overarching APP Services strategy
• Assist in a recruitment strategy and plan that will successfully meet the needs of the practice for new APPs.
• Visualize and develop business opportunities that provide tangible and diverse streams of revenue for the practice - led by APPs
• Development of measures that describe a successful APP Program
Operational Development and Implementation of APP Services• Develop practice infrastructure that supports the APPs and the patients they serve
• Look for models and opportunities to ensure efficiency for the APPs
• Define and implement realistic project management for initiatives identified for each fiscal year
• Be accountable, and hold others accountable, for the implementation of the various programs developed, with documented expectations and measurements
• Understand the financial impacts of various APP models for the practice
• Demonstrate leadership through participation in site visits
• Facilitate the development of practice opportunities for APP continuing education
• Collaborate with the team to develop APP-specific policy and procedure
Leadership and Managerial Oversight• Educate leaders of the company on evolving trends that impact APPs and maximize the likelihood that regional priorities align with needed investments in the APP service line
• Set performance objectives for employees
• Help employees grow and develop
• Perform mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews
• Handle all people-management responsibilities
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Other duties as assigned
Clinical Responsibilities• Up to 20% of time may be allocated to patient care as determined by the needs of the position and/or the senior leadership team. Under supervision and in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families, and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnoses. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients; initiates and documents appropriate interventions, evaluates and records patient/family response, and prescribes therapies as indicated.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• Consistently incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
• Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
• As subject matter expert, promotes/provides staff education and mentors new advanced practice providers.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES:- This position requires an MBA or Master's Degree in a field relevant to the health care industry. APP licensure is required.
- If practicing clinically, current and unencumbered Florida licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required, along with current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification.
EXPERIENCE:- Position requires at least 10-12 years of health care experience; preference is for experience as an APP in community oncology or a related space.
- At least 2 years of managerial experience preferred.

• Excellent computer skills including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Outlook
• Must be willing and able to travel at least 30-40% to fulfill the requirements of the job
