Full Job Description
The Digital Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Digital Department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely production of quality products that meet customer requirements. This role provides leadership for departmental personnel, manages production planning and workflow, maintains compliance with quality and safety standards, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager is responsible for employee development, equipment performance, operational efficiency, and fostering effective cross-department communication and collaboration with to support business goals, align priorities, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all Digital Department operations, ensuring the efficient execution of production activities involving, digital finishing equipment, HP Digital press, HP Production pro, and other technologies/equipment used in the digital department.
  • Provide technical leadership and serve as the primary escalation point for customer support, equipment, and production-related issues.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards to ensure all digital print products meet customer specifications and company requirements.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop department personnel through performance management, coaching, training, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Identify workforce development needs and implement training programs to ensure employees possess the skills and knowledge required to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs and ensure all equipment operates reliably, safely, and efficiently while maintaining 6S workplace standards.
  • Direct production planning and execution by determining manufacturing methods, allocating resources, and optimizing equipment utilization to meet delivery and quality targets.
  • Collaborate with all departments to align production capabilities with customer requirements and business goals.
  • Monitor departmental performance metrics, analyze operational data, and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new equipment, technologies, and process improvements that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital equipment requests, and resource planning to support current and future operational needs.
  • Support customer visits, audits, product launches, and business initiatives as required.
  • Travel as necessary to support customers, suppliers, training activities, and business operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; ten years of related experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in digital printing hardware and software applications, including HP Production Pro and working knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials utilized throughout digital printing operations
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage departmental operations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify root causes, develop effective solutions, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical documents, specifications, work instructions, and production schedules.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and resource-planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, production metrics, and performance reporting.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact professionally with customers, suppliers, and team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, workplace safety requirements, preventive maintenance programs, and 6S principles.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, including extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, occasional lifting, and the use of visual acuity for equipment operation and inspection activities. Posted Pay Range: 75,000 - 100,000 base
