Your Job Guardian Glass is seeking you to become our next Department Manager for Coating/Thin Films Operations in Corsicana, TX!
In this role, you will be drive safety and operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You must be comfortable with complex operations while working across all levels of the organization to drive vision, strategy, and execution while promoting our One Team mentality. This position is key in the ongoing development of front-line leaders within the department, assessing both team and individual gaps/opportunities and taking action to close them.

This position is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.What You Will Do - Lead a cross-functional team of supervisors, engineers, technicians, and manufacturing personnel to achieve safe, reliable, and predictable coater operations in a 24/7/365 manufacturing environment
- Champion a proactive safety culture and ensure safe operating practices, risk assessments, training, and compliance with site and regulatory requirements across the coater department
- Ensure coated products consistently meet internal specifications and customer requirements by maintaining effective process controls and driving resolution of quality and defect issues
- Own coater manufacturing performance, establish clear performance targets, and drive accountability for results
- Identify, prioritize, and execute high-value opportunities to improve coater efficiency, reduce manufacturing losses and cost, increase throughput and capacity, improve reliability, and expand product and process capabilities
- Lead the continuous improvement of coater processes and equipment through data-driven problem solving, root-cause analysis, process optimization, and effective implementation of manufacturing and technical improvements
- Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment reliability, maximize uptime, eliminate chronic losses, and develop long-term strategies for critical coater assets
- Develop and maintain a highly capable organization through effective hiring, coaching, performance management, technical training, succession planning, and leadership development
- Lead capital and improvement projects that enhance coater capability via project management and Management of Change practices
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) - Proven leadership and coaching experience in a 24/7 continuous manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or other STEM related field
- Demonstrated experience aligning a team to safety, quality, cultural, and productivity expectations
- Engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
- Experience using statistical and systematic methods to solve problems
What Will Put You Ahead - Thin Film Optical Process and Production Knowledge: Sputtering, vacuum processes, and equipment
- Glass or Ceramic Process and Production Knowledge: furnace/combustion, glass forming and annealing theory
- Knowledge of Robotics, Asset Care Strategies and Capital Project Planning
