About the roleAs a Data Scientist specializing in visualization engineering, you will own the layer where data meets decisions. Aircall's go-to-market teams (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Customer Support, and RevOps) rely on dashboards and data products every day. You'll design, build, and maintain that layer, from the semantic models underneath to the interfaces people actually use.
This is a specialist role on our Data Science team. You'll sit alongside data scientists working on forecasting, attribution, and modeling, and you'll be the person who makes analytical work land with the business. You'll partner cross-functionally with GTM teams and Data Engineering to raise the quality, reliability, and performance of our reporting ecosystem.
Your mission @ Aircall:
- Partner with GTM stakeholders to translate business questions into reliable, scalable data products.
- Build and own reporting in Looker, from LookML development to dashboard design, powering the self-service analytics GTM teams rely on every day.
- Drive dashboard performance and reliability: query optimization, caching strategy, and content hygiene as usage scales.
- Contribute to our data governance and certification practices, so the business knows which numbers to trust and metric definitions stay consistent across teams.
- Build stakeholder-facing analytical apps where a standard dashboard isn't the right answer.
- Work closely with data engineers to continuously improve the data stack, pushing fixes upstream into the modeling layer where that's the better solution.
A little more about you:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in analytics, BI, or data science in a high growth environment
- Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to read and optimize queries you didn't write
- Proficiency in Python
- Hands-on Looker/LookML experience, you've built explores and views, not only consumed dashboards
- Strong visualization skills to build stories and insights from raw data in a clear and concise manner (we use Hex and Looker)
- Familiarity with data pipeline/orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow)
- Experience collaborating with data engineering to build and maintain healthy pipelines, with experience with lakehouse table formats (e.g., Apache Iceberg) and distributed data processing (e.g., PySpark) as a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to explain complex data clearly to stakeholders at all levels
- You have an insatiable curiosity and are biased toward action
