Job Description SummaryKey Responsibilities- Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines on Databricks using Python and SQL
- Build and support streaming and batch workflows that process high-frequency IoT telemetry data from fleet devices
- Create and manage Delta Lake tables across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers of the medallion architecture
- Write reliable, tested, and well-structured pipeline code following team standards
- Monitor pipeline performance and data quality, investigate failures, and implement fixes
- Collaborate with senior engineers, analysts, and data scientists to understand requirements and deliver data products
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications- 2+ years of data engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, with preference for Databricks
- Familiarity with streaming data concepts (Kafka, Structured Streaming, or equivalent)
- Understanding of cloud data lake concepts and experience with Delta Lake or similar table formats
- Ability to work independently on well-scoped tasks and collaborate effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with the Databricks platform (Workflows, Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables)
- Exposure to IoT or time-series data
- Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification
- Familiarity with Azure services (Azure Key Vault, Event Hubs, Blob Storage)
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to bend, squat, crouch and/or reach and lift up to 25 pounds or more, as required by the job. Some Sunbelt jobs may require driving for long periods of time, loading and unloading heavy equipment, performing work in extreme weather conditions including rain, wind, or excessive temperatures and/or night and weekend work. Base Pay Range: $113,342.00 - 155,845.80
