Aperçu du rôle (Le " pourquoi " du rôle)

Portage CyberTech recherche un Développeur Java Desktop Senior passionné par la conception et le développement d'applications de bureau robustes, performantes et modernes. Le candidat idéal possède une forte expérience en développement Java desktop, un excellent sens de l'architecture logicielle et la capacité d'assumer un rôle de référence technique au sein de l'équipe.

Le poste implique la conception de nouvelles fonctionnalités, l'évolution de produits existants, l'amélioration continue de l'expérience utilisateur ainsi que l'optimisation des performances et de la qualité logicielle. Une forte utilisation d'outils d'intelligence artificielle pour le développement logiciel (AI-Assisted Development / Agentic Development) est également attendue afin d'accélérer le développement, l'automatisation et la qualité des livrables.

Responsabilités principales (ce que vous ferez réellement)

• Concevoir, développer et maintenir des applications desktop Java critiques pour les opérations d'affaires.
• Participer activement aux décisions d'architecture et à l'évolution technologique des produits.
• Utiliser des outils d'IA avancés (GitHub Copilot, Agent Mode, MCP, LLMs, Agentic Workflows) afin d'améliorer la productivité et la qualité du développement.
• Concevoir des interfaces utilisateur modernes, performantes et intuitives.
• Optimiser la stabilité, la consommation mémoire et les performances des applications.
• Développer de nouvelles fonctionnalités en respectant les meilleures pratiques de développement logiciel.
• Collaborer avec les équipes Produit, QA et Support afin de livrer des solutions de haute qualité.
• Assurer l'intégration des applications desktop avec des API, bases de données et services externes.
• Contribuer à l'automatisation des tests, du déploiement et de l'assurance qualité.
• Participer à toutes les phases du cycle de développement logiciel dans un environnement Agile.

Qualifications et compétences requises

• DEC ou diplôme universitaire en informatique, génie logiciel ou expérience équivalente.
• Minimum de 8 ans d'expérience en développement logiciel.
• Minimum de 5 ans d'expérience en développement d'applications desktop
• Excellente maîtrise de Java.
• Expérience dans la maintenance et l'évolution de produits logiciels complexes.
• Excellente capacité d'analyse et de résolution de problèmes.
• Autonomie, leadership technique et esprit collaboratif.
• À l'aise pour communiquer en anglais (oral et écrit) dans un contexte professionnel.
• Bonne compréhension des principes de cybersécurité applicative.
• Maîtrise du Top 10 OWASP.

Role Overview (The "Why" of the Role)

Portage CyberTech is seeking a passionate Senior Java Desktop Developer with a strong interest in designing and developing robust, high-performance, and modern desktop applications. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Java desktop development, a solid software architecture background, and the ability to serve as a technical leader and trusted resource within the team.

This role involves designing new features, evolving existing products, continuously improving the user experience, and optimizing application performance and software quality. A strong adoption of AI-powered software development practices (AI-Assisted Development / Agentic Development) is also expected to accelerate development, automation, and the quality of software deliverables.

Core Responsibilities (What You'll Actually Do)

• Design, develop, and maintain Java desktop applications critical to business operations.
• Actively participate in architectural decisions and the technological evolution of products.
• Leverage advanced AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Agent Mode, MCP, LLMs, Agentic Workflows, etc.) to improve productivity and software quality.
• Design modern, high-performance, and intuitive user interfaces.
• Optimize application stability, memory usage, and overall performance.
• Develop new features while adhering to software development best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and Support teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Ensure seamless integration between desktop applications, APIs, databases, and external services.
• Contribute to test automation, deployment automation, and quality assurance initiatives.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle within an Agile environment.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Education & Skills

• College diploma (DEC) or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience developing Java desktop applications.
• Excellent proficiency in Java.
• Experience maintaining and evolving complex software products.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with strong technical leadership and collaboration skills.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in French (spoken and written).
• Good understanding of application security and secure coding principles.
• Strong knowledge of the OWASP Top 10.
