In-N-Out Burgers I.T. Infrastructure team has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Cyber Security Engineer I located out of our Irvine, CA office! The Cyber Security Engineer I plays an important role in protecting the organization's systems and data by monitoring potential threats, supporting cyber security tools and platforms, and assisting with vulnerability management and incident response. This role works closely with the cyber security team, I.T. Infrastructure network, and other support teams to identify and address security risks, strengthen system resilience, and help maintain a secure environment that upholds the trust of our customers and Associates. The position also provides an opportunity to develop hands-on experience with cyber security technologies, security operations, and industry best practices while contributing to the continued improvement of In-N-Out Burgers overall security posture.

General Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze security alerts to identify potential threats and assist with timely escalation and response.
• Help maintain and administer core cyber security tools, including SIEM, identity and access management (IAM), endpoint protection, and vulnerability management platforms.
• Support the investigation and documentation of security events and assist with incident response activities.
• Perform vulnerability scans and assist with validating patches and security fixes.
• Help identify, document, and communicate potential security weaknesses and support remediation efforts.
• Work with infrastructure and network teams to implement secure configurations and security improvements across our environments.
• Assist with evaluating, integrating, and improving cyber security tools and processes to strengthen the team's operational capabilities.
• Support cyber security compliance and audit readiness by maintaining accurate records, documentation, and evidence.
• Assist with security activities aligned with industry frameworks and regulations, including PCI DSS, NIST, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Participate in basic risk assessments and help with document findings.
• Partner with cyber security, I.T. infrastructure, and network teams to resolve security issues and improve system integrity.
• Stay current on emerging cyber security technologies, threats, and best practices.
• Continue developing your technical cyber security skills while contributing to projects that strengthen the organization's security and resilience.

Work Schedule + Benefits

• Full-time, Salaried (Exempt)
• Pay Range: $89,759.00-$99,262.00 annually

The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.

• Irvine Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Department needs may call for occasional overtime

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cyber Security, I.T. Infrastructure, or Systems Administration with exposure to security monitoring and incident handling
• Hands-on experience with basic vulnerability scanning, endpoint protection, or SIEM tools preferred
• Knowledge of cyber security trends and hacking techniques
• Basic understanding of different hardware and software networks and data centers
• Ability to work under pressure and in a competitive environment
• Excellent analytical and research skills
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
• Strong work ethics and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of any sensitive information

Work Location Details

In-N-Out Burgers plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company's western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948.

Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029.
