Position SummaryThe Customer Funding Desk (CFD) Associate will support the Americas Customer Funding Desk in the day-to-day commercial and operational management of the liquidity business. The role is responsible for supporting Business-As-Usual (BAU) activities, coordinating the daily renewal of customer funding transactions, assisting with transaction booking, preparing commercial materials, managing reporting and analytics, supporting client onboarding, and contributing to strategic initiatives across the liquidity business. The Associate will work closely with Sales, Relationship Managers, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure the efficient execution of commercial opportunities and ongoing client activity.
This position is designed for a highly organized, analytical, and technology-driven professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced international banking environment. The Associate will partner closely with senior sales professionals and relationship managers while gaining exposure to liquidity products, client management, sales strategy, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional projects throughout BBVA's Corporate & Investment Banking platform.
The role provides a structured development path toward promotion to Senior Associate and, over time, increased client-facing responsibilities within the Customer Funding Desk.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Management and Administrative Support- Support the Head of Customer Funding Desk in the day-to-day management of the Americas business.
- Coordinate meetings, internal communications, project follow-up, calendars, and action items across multiple stakeholders.
- Prepare agendas, meeting materials, minutes, executive summaries, and follow-up communications.
- Maintain business documentation, procedures, contact lists, shared files, and internal records in an organized and audit-ready manner.
- Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Product teams, Compliance, Operations, Legal, Finance, and other internal partners.
- Provide general administrative support appropriate to the Associate level, including travel coordination, expense support, document management, and scheduling.
- Support the execution of daily operational workflows required to maintain the Customer Funding Desk's commercial activity.
- Coordinate closely with Operations, Middle Office, and Finance to ensure transactions are booked, settled, and reported correctly.
- Maintain accurate records of daily renewals, transaction bookings, and outstanding operational items.
Reporting and Business Analytics- Produce recurring management reports, dashboards, pipeline updates, and key performance indicators.
- Analyze sales activity, deposit balances, revenues, client trends, and business performance.
- Develop clear, concise, and executive-ready presentations for senior management and governance forums.
- Maintain reporting databases and help improve data quality, standardization, and automation.
- Assist with forecasting, business planning, budgeting, and periodic performance reviews.
Sales and Commercial Support- Support the day-to-day commercial activities of the Customer Funding Desk, ensuring timely execution of Business-As-Usual (BAU) processes and operational continuity.
- Coordinate and support the daily renewal of customer funding transactions, ensuring all renewals are processed accurately, on time, and in accordance with internal policies and client requirements.
- Prepare liquidity proposals, pricing materials, client pitches, and product presentations.
- Assist with client onboarding documentation and internal approval processes.
- Coordinate follow-up from client meetings and help track opportunities throughout the commercial pipeline.
- Conduct market, client, and competitive research to identify commercial opportunities and support business development initiatives.
- Support the booking of customer funding and liquidity transactions, coordinating with Front Office, Operations, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
- Monitor pending transactions, renewals, and operational exceptions, proactively following up to resolve issues and minimize execution risk.
- Participate in selected client meetings and internal strategy discussions to strengthen commercial, product, and client relationship knowledge.
Innovation and AI Enablement- Promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence tools to improve productivity, research, reporting, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive administrative and reporting tasks using approved AI and digital solutions.
- Support innovation initiatives and process improvements within the Customer Funding Desk.
- Research emerging technologies and best practices applicable to sales, client servicing, analytics, and business management.
- Help develop dashboards, templates, and workflow enhancements using AI-enabled platforms and data tools.
Project Coordination- Support regional and global CFD initiatives involving multiple BBVA teams and jurisdictions.
- Track project deliverables, deadlines, dependencies, and action plans.
- Prepare status updates and escalate delays or open items when appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of team processes, reporting routines, and commercial practices.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 3-4 years of experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Financial Services, Consulting, business management, or a related analytical role.
- Experience with reporting, project coordination, administrative support, or commercial support is preferred.
- Interest in Transaction Banking, liquidity management, treasury products, innovation, or Corporate & Investment Banking.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a dynamic environment.
Required Skills and CompetenciesTechnical Skills- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, advanced formulas, data analysis, and dashboard preparation.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and the ability to prepare polished, executive-level presentations.
- Strong reporting, analytical, and data-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, and other standard productivity tools.
- Working knowledge of AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or comparable enterprise-approved tools.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, Bloomberg, CRM platforms, or workflow automation tools is a plus.

Language Requirements- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
Preferred Qualifications- Exposure to Corporate & Investment Banking products or business lines.
- Knowledge of liquidity, deposits, cash management, treasury, or funding products.
- Experience preparing materials for senior executives or client-facing teams.
- Experience with data visualization, process automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Interest in building a long-term career in liquidity sales, transaction banking, or corporate banking.
With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $100,000 to $130,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
