Job Description

Summary:

The CRA and Fair Banking Officer is responsible for First United Bank & Trust's CRA and Fair Banking program management, and stakeholder engagement. The position will report directly to the Chief Culture and Communications Officer and will operate in close collaboration with the Compliance Department through a strong relationship to ensure alignment, consistency, and effective execution across the organization. This leadership role includes leading team members to support model management, data analytics, and ongoing program execution with each community bank and applicable business line. The role encompasses driving performance strategies for Lending, Investments, and Services within the Bank's enterprise strategy, risk appetite, and community impact objectives.

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Strategic Leadership
• Lead the ongoing maturity, execution, and enhancement of the CRA and Fair Banking programs
• Align CRA and Fair Banking/Lending initiatives with business strategy
• Establish, monitor, and report performance metrics tied to program objectives
• Oversee program performance and lead community needs assessments and analysis
• Establish a strong partnership with the Compliance Department to drive alignment, consistency, governance, and effective execution of CRA and Fair Banking strategies across the organization.

Program Management
• Oversee lending, investments, and services performance against program goals and regulatory expectations
• Direct team priorities and resources to monitor program performance, produce meaningful analytics, and recommend adjustments in partnership with Compliance and business leaders
• Champion community partnerships and needs assessments through our Spend Life Wisely Ambassadors
• Evaluate products and practices for fairness

Governance, Reporting & Regulatory Engagement
• Serve as FUB's CRA and Fair Banking Officer, working closely with the Compliance Department, regulators, and examiners on program governance, execution, and ongoing effectiveness
• Prepare, deliver and effectively communicate reports for Committees, Executive Leadership and Board
• Support exams and audits
• Monitor findings and corrective actions
• Cross-Functional Integration
• Partner closely with Compliance, community banks, and business lines to align strategy, execution, and issue resolution across CRA and Fair Banking activities
• Champion CRA and Fair Banking culture aligned to the Bank's Purpose and Values

Additional Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete all required Workday learning on an annual basis.
• Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent Compliance, CRA, Fair & Responsible Banking/Lending experience.
• Strong knowledge of CRA program requirements, Fair Lending, and other associated regulations including Regulation B/Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Housing Act, and Home Mortgage Disclosure Act
• Minimum of 7 years of Compliance experience with at least 5 years of concentration in CRA and Fair Lending, including experience leading teams and driving enterprise-wide execution through cross-functional partnership
• Experience with regulatory examinations
• CRACP and/or CRCM designation.
