What is the Opportunity?Reporting to the Director, Corporate Legal, the successful candidate will provide timely, practical advice on corporate and securities matters throughout the business, including M&A, financings, corporate governance, securities compliance, commercial transactions and strategic investments and will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, external counsel and other advisors.
What You'll Do Here:- Advise on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic investments and other corporate transactions and draft, review and negotiate transaction documents
- Prepare and review corporate resolutions, organizational documents, disclosure materials and regulatory filings
- Advise on securities laws and regulatory requirements applicable to Aecon and support Aecon's public Board of Directors, including preparation of Board materials
- Support public and/or private securities offerings, financings and capital markets transactions
- Assist with the development, implementation and updating of Aecon's corporate policies and procedures
- Instruct and manage outside counsel, including strategy, work product, and business alignment.
What You Bring to the Team:- Member in good standing with the Law Society in Ontario
- Post-call legal experience: 2-4 years as a corporate and/or securities counsel at a major law firm or as in-house counsel at a Canadian public company
- Transactional experience including domestic and cross-border M&A is a strong asset

The expected salary range for this role is $135,000-$160,000 per year
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may includecertifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
