Full Job Description
Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position:

The Corporate Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations across the company's facilities in the US and Germany. This role ensures compliance with US GAAP, IFRS and local statutory requirements, while providing accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting. The Corporate Controller will lead a geographically distributed accounting team, maintain strong internal controls and support strategic initiatives in collaboration with the CFO.

Major Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibility

  • Lead the global accounting function, including general ledger, cost accounting, consolidation, inventory management, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across all entities, ensuring accurate consolidation and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local statutory reporting requirements in Germany.
  • Maintain and enhance internal control systems and processes across all regions.
  • Coordinate annual audits (US and international) and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Partner with controllers and accounting managers to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and accurate entity- and division-level reporting.
  • Lead accounting integration efforts related to new system implementations or M&A activity, when applicable.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, consolidations, and reviews.
  • Lead cash management, working capital reporting, and banking compliance (in partnership with CFO).
  • Collaborate with FP&A personnel to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos and ensure appropriate documentation of significant transactions.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and drive automation initiatives within the finance function.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to strengthen technical capabilities and service delivery.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, operational accountability, and continuous improvement practices within the accounting organization.
  • Promote strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused support throughout the team.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and statutory reporting.
  • Strong background in cost accounting, inventory management, and management reporting in a manufacturing setting.
  • ERP experience (e.g., EPICOR, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or equivalent international certification required


Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience in complex manufacturing environments required
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing accounting and management strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Strong leadership experience developing teams, driving operational improvements, and managing cross-functional initiatives.
  • Global financial leadership experience is a plus

Salary Range: $225,000-$245,000 + bonus
