Description

Truck-Lite is seeking a hands-on, solutions-driven Manufacturing Automation Project Engineer to support our Wellsboro, PA operation. In this role, you will help ensure smooth plant operations, lead facility and capital improvement projects, and apply advanced manufacturing techniques that strengthen our production and distribution capabilities.

You'll be the go-to resource for troubleshooting equipment and automation challenges, guiding maintenance team members, and driving innovation across processes such as assembly, molding, harness manufacturing, and material handling. This position plays a key part in supporting new product introductions (NPI), lifecycle management (LCM) programs, and the continued modernization of our facilities.

Responsibilities include:
• Serve as the technical authority for manufacturing methods, equipment selection, automation strategy, and
process capability.
• Develop long-term manufacturing technology roadmaps, including automation, robotics, digital
manufacturing, and advanced process control.
• Oversee selection, installation, commissioning, and validation of new processes and equipment. Act as a key
liaison with equipment vendors, overseeing build schedules, FAT/SAT, and vendor performance.
• Research and apply advanced manufacturing methods including process and material handling automation
• Partner with maintenance and mechanic personnel to solve chronic equipment and system issues including
documenting best practices and providing training as needed.
• Lead cross-functional teams in evaluating and implementing equipment/method/process layout changes.
• Mentor and train Manufacturing Process Engineers and Process Specialists, providing technical guidance and
leadership.
• Champion manufacturing readiness for New Product Introductions, ensuring robust process capability, quality
performance, and throughput.
• Ensure compliance with the Technology Control Plan and Federal Export Control Policy, consistent with
ITAR/EAR requirements

Education Requirements: 2 or 4 year degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related field

Specific Skills and/or Experience with Software, Equipment, etc:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience creating and maintaining automated equipment containing programmable logic controllers (PLC's),
Stepper and Servo Control Systems, HMI's, Fanuc Robots. Rockwell Automation (Allen Bradley) experience is
preferred
• Ability to write and review technical and process documentation
• Ability to create and modify schematic drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Prefer experience with Solidworks 3D CAD design
• Proficiency with PLC ladder logic, HMI, and SCADA
• Prefer 5+ years minimum experience with Industrial Controls Systems and knowledge of electrical theory and
principles of operation
• Hands on troubleshooting electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills are preferred
• Experience leading manufacturing project
