Qualifications

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably as a Controller or senior accountant in the construction or related industry.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Payroll, with knowledge of time-tracking system integrations.
• Hands-on experience and detailed knowledge of Percentage-of-Completion (POC) and Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting.
• Ability to engage with operations teams and train staff effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and trustworthiness in handling sensitive financial data.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own the monthly close process and reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Manage and analyze POC/WIP accounting, including journal entries and variance assessments.
• Maintain strong accounting controls and audit trails with up-to-date documentation.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, resolving vendor disputes and managing lien waivers.
• Support Accounts Receivable and billing functions to ensure program compliance and accurate invoicing.
• Train project managers and coordinators in AR/billing standards and proper documentation.
• Administer payroll-related tasks through QuickBooks Payroll and BambooHR, including setups and deductions.
• Handle compliance matters like 1099s, gross receipts taxes, and business licenses.
