Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Retirement Consultant in Toronto to join a growing and dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to have a significant and positive impact on the continued growth of the retirement practice in Canada.
The Retirement Consultant is expected to develop into a key contributor, collaborating closely with Client Relationship Managers and staff members at all levels to develop and implement strategic solutions to multiemployer clients. The Consultant will oversee the delivery of meeting material to large clients, manage projects, mentor/guide actuarial analysts, provide expertise and technical support on complex client projects and related actuarial issues .
Role The Consultant will be accountable for the delivery of meeting materials and for supporting the Client Relationship Managers to ensure a high level of client satisfaction. A key part of the role is also maximizing the profitability through efficient project execution, and account management, including responsibility for special assignments. Key responsibility includes:
- Collaborating with Client Relationship Managers to ensure effective project management and service delivery;
- Contributing to the development and implementation of high quality, creative and integrated consulting services to clients;
- Providing innovative and technically sound expertise to colleagues in addressing emerging and unique retirement issues posed by client organizations;
- Leading and supporting client teams and while playing a proactive role in mentoring and developing staff and contributing to the overall intellectual and professional growth of the teams.
The qualified candidate should have:
- A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant consulting experience.
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree;
- Be a credentialed actuary (preferred),
- Experience within an employee benefits consulting firm with exposure to retirement plan strategies, design and implementation, particularly in the multiemployer sector;
- Strong business acumen and leadership ability;
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse audience of colleagues and clients;
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to deadlines in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.

The current salary range for this position is $100,000-$140,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
