Job Description

JMT's Herndon Construction Management Team is seeking a Construction Manager to be responsible for providing Construction Inspection oversight on major transportation projects in the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. Region.

Compensation for this position is $57.00 - $87.00 per hour (118,560 - 180,960 per year), commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.

Essential functions and responsibilities
  • Responsible for marketing and business development for transportation construction projects
  • Manages contracts, including invoicing and financial management
  • Responsible for project QA/QC in the assigned region
  • Maintains and builds client relationships
  • Prepare technical and price proposals
  • Hires, trains, develops, and conducts performance reviews for staff
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team

Nonessential functions and responsibilities
  • Assists design disciplines with constructability questions/issues
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Required Skills

  • Strong computer proficiency
  • Active driver's license and reliable motor vehicle
    • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening


Required Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience working in the CM/CI or engineering field

Preferred Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Professional Engineering license
  • Experience working with local clients

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a combination of general office and outside environments. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature fluctuate depending on the season and limitations of operations. There are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions working in the general office environment; however, while working on the field, there may be some exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by dust, noise, traffic, etc.
