Full Job Description
As the Overnight Field Nurse Supervisor, you will provide overnight leadership and clinical oversight for our pediatric and geriatric clients receiving care in the community. You will support clients, families, and field staff during overnight hours to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality care.

This position combines field-based clinical leadership with administrative, quality assurance, compliance, and staff-management responsibilities.

Regular travel to clients' homes throughout the GTA is required.

As the Overnight Field Nurse Supervisor, you will:
  • Oversee the overnight care of pediatric and geriatric clients throughout Toronto and the GTA. *Please note that driving and commuting is required. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with driving at night, inner-city, and highway driving, and spending time in the car. We provide service all throughout Toronto and the GTA including Peel, York, and Durham Region.
  • Visit clients in their homes to assess their care, provide consultations, update care plans, replenish PPE, and conduct supervisory visits.
  • Meet with prospective clients and their families to assess their needs and develop individualized care plans that support their safety, independence, and quality of life at home.
  • Introduce caregivers to clients and provide thorough, in-person orientations regarding each client's routines, preferences, and care requirements.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and mentorship to field staff in clients' homes and through our in-house skills lab.
  • Support staff in developing and maintaining the competencies required to care for clients with complex medical and personal support needs.
  • Provide real-time clinical guidance and support to overnight field staff.
  • Complete nursing assessments, clinical interventions, and other nursing duties when required.
  • Conduct regular client check-in visits to ensure care needs are being met and documentation remains accurate and current.
  • Develop, review, and update individualized client care plans.
  • Complete employee intervention chart audits and follow up on any identified concerns.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and support to field staff.
  • Complete quality assurance reviews and monitor compliance with company policies, clinical standards, documentation requirements, and client-specific care plans.
  • Prepare reports and clinical updates to support service-frequency extension requests.
  • Step in to cover shifts when necessary to ensure no client goes without essential care.
  • Support evening scheduling team with questions and clinical concerns.


Teaching, coaching, and mentorship are significant components of this position.

Requirements

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
  • This is a full-time overnight position with the following schedule:
    • Mondays: 9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
    • Tuesdays: 9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
    • Wednesdays: 11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
    • Thursdays: 9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
    • Fridays: 9:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.
  • All shifts are awake and alert shifts. Sleeping is not permitted. Active field and administrative duties will be assigned throughout each shift.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4 years minimum of nursing experience (required)
  • 2 years of complex paediatric care (required)
  • Homecare experience (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a leadership role (preferred)


Must have paediatriccomplex care experience with majority of the following interventions:
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilators
  • suctioning (oral, nasal and tracheal)
  • G and J tube feeding
  • Bi-pap or C-pap
  • Cough assist
  • Oxygenation
  • Seizure monitoring


EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Driver's License (mandatory)
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Intentional organization, planning, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated experience setting and achieving goals
  • Customer service and leadership
  • Previous teaching or leadership experience an asset
  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year
  • CNO Registration and Registered Nurse (RN) Certificate in good standing
  • COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario's Human Rights Code
  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.
  • Valid CPR/First aid certification
  • Valid WHMIS certification from the past year
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to the team
