Overview

The Cloud & On-Prem Compute Infrastructure Manager leads the strategy, implementation, and support of Hussmann's hybrid infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments. This role oversees enterprise servers, virtualization, cloud services, storage, backup, and disaster recovery while leading a team of infrastructure engineers responsible for delivering secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with experience modernizing infrastructure, leading cloud initiatives, developing high-performing teams, and partnering across IT to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership

  • Lead and support the enterprise compute environment across Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Develop infrastructure roadmaps and drive cloud modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure reliable, secure, and efficient infrastructure services that support business operations.
  • Lead major infrastructure incidents and drive root cause analysis and service improvements.


Cloud & Infrastructure Management

  • Manage Microsoft Azure services, Windows Server, Linux, Hyper-V, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead cloud migration, infrastructure lifecycle, capacity planning, and technology refresh initiatives.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to strengthen infrastructure security, support vulnerability remediation, and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity capabilities.


Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers.
  • Manage hiring, coaching, performance management, workload prioritization, and on-call support.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Architecture, and business leaders to deliver scalable technology solutions.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Vendor & Financial Management

  • Manage strategic technology vendors, licensing, maintenance agreements, cloud spending, and infrastructure budgets.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency and business value.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience.
  • 3+ years leading technical teams or infrastructure initiatives.
  • Experience managing hybrid cloud environments and migrating workloads to Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure security.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, PowerShell scripting, and infrastructure automation.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Azure certifications.
  • Experience with Azure Arc, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and cloud automation.
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring, storage, and backup platforms such as Pure Storage, Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity, Commvault, or Azure Backup.


Technical Experience

Experience with:

  • Microsoft Azure (Virtual Machines, Storage, Azure Backup, Azure Monitor, Entra ID)


  • Windows Server, Linux, and Hyper-V


  • Enterprise storage and backup solutions


  • PowerShell scripting and automation


Infrastructure monitoring and management tools
