Job Summary and Qualifications

Based in the Atlanta area, the Manager, Value Analysis and Clinical Programs supports the development, coordination, execution, and sustainment of enterprise Value Analysis and Clinical Resource Management initiatives across the health system. Reporting to the Enterprise Director of Value Analysis, this leader provides analytical, clinical, operational, and program-management support for initiatives focused on supply expense optimization, product standardization, utilization management, clinical variation reduction, technology assessment, contract optimization, and measurable improvements in cost, quality, outcomes, and operational performance.

The Manager works closely with physicians, clinicians, Value Analysis leaders, Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Operations, Clinical Engineering, and other stakeholders to evaluate products and technologies, analyze clinical and financial information, coordinate multidisciplinary decision-making, and support the successful implementation of approved initiatives. Strong clinical experience and knowledge of medical products, devices, clinical workflows, and healthcare operations are highly valued.

This position serves as the primary coordinator for Value Analysis committees and councils, including scheduling meetings, developing agendas, preparing materials, documenting discussions and decisions, maintaining action logs, and communicating approved recommendations and next steps to stakeholders. The Manager also supports the Enterprise Director in maintaining governance processes, initiative portfolios, executive reporting, and consistent Value Analysis methodologies across the organization.

The role requires a highly organized, analytical, clinically credible, and collaborative professional who can manage multiple initiatives, interpret complex data, facilitate multidisciplinary discussions, and translate decisions into actionable implementation plans.

Value Analysis Program Support:

Support the Enterprise Director of Value Analysis in the development, execution, and ongoing advancement of the enterprise Value Analysis and Clinical Resource Management program

  • Assist with implementation of strategic roadmaps focused on supply expense optimization, clinical variation reduction, utilization management, product standardization, quality improvement, and value realization
  • Support consistent application of enterprise Value Analysis policies, governance structures, decision frameworks, workflows, tools, and methodologies
  • Maintain a comprehensive portfolio of Value Analysis initiatives, including status, financial opportunity, clinical impact, ownership, milestones, risks, decisions, and implementation progress
  • Coordinate activities across multiple facilities, clinical service lines, committees, councils, and stakeholder groups
  • Support development and refinement of product request, technology assessment, product evaluation, standardization, utilization review, and implementation processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve program efficiency, stakeholder engagement, meeting effectiveness, documentation, and decision-making
  • Assist the Enterprise Director with executive presentations, strategic planning, program assessments, annual work plans, and performance reporting
  • Support achievement of annual financial, operational, clinical, and program objectives


Committee and Council Coordination:

  • Coordinate the administrative and operational activities of enterprise Value Analysis committees, clinical councils, product review groups, and related governance bodies
  • Develop and maintain annual meeting calendars in collaboration with committee chairs, clinical leaders, and the Enterprise Director
  • Schedule meetings, reserve appropriate meeting resources, coordinate attendance, and distribute invitations and supporting materials
  • Develop draft agendas in collaboration with committee chairs, initiative owners, clinical leaders, and Value Analysis leadership
  • Assemble and distribute meeting materials, including product requests, clinical evidence, utilization data, financial analyses, supplier information, implementation updates, and decision summaries
  • Record accurate meeting minutes, discussions, recommendations, approvals, conditions, deferrals, and assigned actions
  • Maintain decision logs, action-item trackers, attendance records, initiative histories, and governance documentation

Clinical Product Evaluation and Technology Assessment:

  • Support multidisciplinary evaluation of medical products, supplies, devices, equipment, and emerging clinical technologies
  • Gather and organize clinical evidence, product specifications, safety information, regulatory considerations, operational requirements, utilization data, and financial information
  • Partner with physicians, clinicians, Clinical Engineering, Infection Prevention, Information Technology, Supply Chain, and other subject matter experts to evaluate product and technology requests
  • Assist in comparing products and technologies based on clinical efficacy, patient safety, quality, outcomes, workflow impact, user requirements, compatibility, training needs, and total cost of ownership
  • Support structured technology assessments, product trials, clinical evaluations, and pilot programs.
  • Coordinate product demonstrations, supplier presentations, evaluation sessions, and stakeholder feedback


Physician and Clinical Engagement:

  • Build collaborative relationships with physicians, nursing leaders, clinical department leaders, procedural teams, pharmacy, ancillary departments, and other clinical stakeholders
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary discussions related to product selection, technology assessment, standardization, utilization, clinical variation, and implementation
  • Support physician alignment and consensus-building by presenting objective clinical, operational, utilization, and financial information
  • Engage clinical stakeholders early in the evaluation process to understand patient-care requirements, workflow considerations, product preferences, and implementation risks
  • Serve as a knowledgeable and responsive liaison between clinical stakeholders and Supply Chain
  • Communicate Value Analysis processes, decision criteria, governance expectations, and organizational objectives to physicians and clinicians
  • Support resolution of clinical product concerns, implementation barriers, conversion issues, and stakeholder questions
  • Promote evidence-based, transparent, and collaborative decision-making


Analytics and Decision Support:

  • Perform financial, operational, utilization, clinical, and supply chain analyses to support Value Analysis initiatives and committee decisions
  • Analyze purchasing, contracting, accounts payable, item master, inventory, utilization, preference card, procedural, pharmacy, and clinical data
    Identify opportunities related to:
  • Supply expense optimization, Product standardization, Clinical variation reduction, Utilization management, Contract compliance, Physician preference items, Product conversion Innovation/Technology assessment

Value realization

  • Develop opportunity analyses, executive summaries, committee materials, dashboards, scorecards, and initiative reports
  • Conduct spend analysis, price benchmarking, utilization analysis, variance analysis, return-on-investment analysis, total cost of ownership evaluation, and budget-impact assessment
  • Translate complex data into clear findings, recommendations, and practical actions for clinical, operational, and executive audiences
  • Collaborate with Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Analytics, and operational teams to validate assumptions, savings opportunities, and realized results
  • Ensure analytical findings are accurate, transparent, supported by appropriate data, and clearly documented


Product Standardization and Utilization Management:

  • Support enterprise product standardization and utilization management initiatives across facilities and clinical service lines
  • Analyze product variation, physician utilization patterns, clinical practice differences, consumption trends, and contract performance
  • Partner with physicians, clinicians, sourcing leaders, and operational stakeholders to evaluate standardization opportunities
  • Assist with development of product formularies, clinical utilization protocols, approved product lists, and conversion strategies
  • Support evaluation of clinical appropriateness, quality, safety, operational impact, and financial value associated with standardization recommendations
  • Coordinate clinical review, stakeholder feedback, product trials, decision-making, and implementation activities.


Initiative Implementation and Sustainment:

  • Develop and coordinate implementation plans for approved Value Analysis initiatives, product conversions, technology adoptions, utilization changes, and process improvements
  • Define milestones, deliverables, dependencies, responsibilities, communication requirements, education needs, and success measures
  • Coordinate implementation activities across Supply Chain, clinical departments, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Information Technology, Clinical Engineering, Education, and suppliers
  • Support development and distribution of implementation communications, education materials, product information, training resources, and conversion schedule
  • Monitor implementation progress and identify operational, clinical, financial, or stakeholder risks
  • Escalate barriers, delays, unresolved decisions, and resource needs to the Enterprise Director
  • Support product conversion planning, inventory depletion, substitute management, ordering changes, item master updates, education, and go-live activities
  • Conduct follow-up with stakeholders to assess adoption, satisfaction, clinical impact, operational performance, and sustainment


Financial Stewardship and Value Realization:

  • Support identification, quantification, validation, tracking, and reporting of savings, cost avoidance, utilization improvement, contract compliance, and other value metrics
  • Partner with Finance, Strategic Sourcing, Operations, and Value Analysis leadership to ensure consistent financial methodologies
  • Develop financial models and opportunity analyses for proposed Value Analysis initiatives
  • Evaluate acquisition cost, utilization, reimbursement, implementation expense, maintenance, accessories, consumables, training, and other total cost considerations
  • Monitor performance against approved financial and operational targets
  • Identify gaps between projected and realized outcomes and support development of corrective action plans


Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, innovation, integrity, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Director of Value Analysis, Supply Chain Operations, Strategic Sourcing and Contracting, Analytics and Performance, Finance, Clinical Engineering, Information Technology, Pharmacy, and operational leadership
  • Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing to support contract optimization, supplier discussions, market assessments, and product-conversion initiatives
  • Partner with Supply Chain Operations to support inventory planning, product availability, distribution readiness, and implementation
  • Collaborate with Clinical Engineering and Information Technology when products or technologies require technical, interoperability, cybersecurity, maintenance, or infrastructure review
  • Work with Finance to validate financial opportunities, methodologies, and reported outcomes


What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied Health, Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Clinical Informatics, Business Analytics or a related healthcare field - Required
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Pharmacy, Data Analytics, or a related discipline - Preferred
  • Minimum five years of progressive experience in healthcare Value Analysis, clinical operations, nursing, pharmacy, supply chain, clinical resource management, healthcare analytics, consulting, or operational performance improvement - Required
  • Experience working in a hospital, health system, integrated delivery network, academic medical center, or similarly complex healthcare organization - Preferred
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary committees, councils, governance groups, or clinical programs - Required
  • Experience preparing agendas, meeting materials, minutes, decision logs, action trackers, and stakeholder communications - Required
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing clinical, financial, utilization, operational, or supply chain data - Required
  • Experience supporting product evaluations, technology assessments, product standardization, utilization management, or supply expense initiatives - Required
  • Strong clinical experience or demonstrated knowledge of clinical operations, medical products, devices, supplies, and healthcare workflows - Preferred

  • Experience with physician preference items, procedural products, surgical supplies, pharmacy products, medical devices, or other high-value clinical categories - Preferred
