Responsibilities & QualificationsThe Opportunity
As a Civil Engineer within our Rail + Transit team, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of transit infrastructure projects for leading transit agencies and transportation stakeholders across Canada.
Working alongside multidisciplinary teams of engineers, planners, architects, and project managers, you will contribute technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle - from concept development and preliminary engineering through detailed design and construction support.

What You'll Do
Lead and contribute to the civil design of rail and transit infrastructure projects across Canada.
Prepare and review design drawings, specifications, technical reports, and construction documentation.
Develop solutions related to grading, drainage, corridors, roadworks, site development, utilities, and transportation infrastructure.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams including track, structures, architecture, systems, utilities, and environmental specialists.
Support project planning, design development, and engineering delivery for major transit programs.
Interface directly with clients, transit authorities, contractors, and key project stakeholders.
Perform quality reviews and ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
Support proposal development, business development activities, and client relationship management efforts.
Contribute to the growth and continued success of TYLin's Rail + Transit practice in Canada.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Canada is required.
5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.
Experience supporting transportation, rail, transit, municipal, or large infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles including grading, drainage, roadway design, utilities, and site development.
Experience with industry-standard design software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or similar platforms.
Strong communication, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Passion for infrastructure, innovation, and improving mobility within Canadian communities.
Additional InformationTYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $90,000 - $115,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
