Stantec is seeking a Civil Aviation Project Engineer to join the Infrastructure business line in Florida. We seek a team player who desires a highly collaborative work environment, has excellent client and communication skills, and strong design capabilities.

We seek a candidate with expertise with the development of plans and specification for airside facilities such as runways, taxiways, and aprons, as well as landside roads, general civil/site development, storm water collection and treatment, and other related projects. This position may be based in Tampa, Orlando, Coral Gables, Miami, West Palm Beach, Deerfield Beach, or Jacksonville, Florida.

With a unique multidisciplinary team approach, we're equipped with state-of-the-art survey tools, simulation models, specialized design software, and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) facilities. Our Infrastructure group is growing throughout Florida and provides comprehensive planning, design, and engineering services for all phases of airports and aviation, bridge, rail, roadway, and transit projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for design and post design efforts on engineering design of commercial and general aviation airport improvements, including pavement, drainage, utility, and landside/site projects.
• Coordinate and direct efforts of technical staff to develop high-quality deliverables.
• Review plans for conformance with scope of services and standards.
• May be responsible for the review and sealing of own projects.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
• Interaction with Stantec clients.
• Develop and/or review policies, methods, practices, and procedures; and review plans for conformance with FAA design standards.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Demonstrated successful experience with engineering/design of commercial and general aviation airport improvements, including pavement, drainage, utility, and landside/site projects.
• Thorough knowledge and application of FAA design standards and specifications.
• Knowledge of FAA and state airport capital funding processes.
• Expertise using engineering design and office software, including AutoCAD Civil 3-D and MS Office.
• Ability to exercise discretion and balance the need for independent and collaborative efforts.
• Construction administration and observation experience preferred.
• Oversees preparation of as-built plans.
• Excellent communication skills and a skilled problem solver, with a commitment to thrive in a proactive organization where client service and individual excellence are paramount.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensed in the State of Florida or the ability to attain within 6 months.
• 6+ years related experience in airport infrastructure and transportation design.

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
