Job DescriptionThe
CG Technical Director supports the CG department by building tools, improving workflows, and providing visibility into production challenges across multiple shows. Working closely with the Head of CG, Department Supervisors, and CG Supervisors, the role helps solve production problems, prepare solutions for upcoming projects, identify bottlenecks, and improve the day-to-day experience of artists and supervisors.
Responsibilities- Develop tools, workflows, and diagnostics that improve the efficiency of the CG department.
- Partner with supervisors to turn known production challenges into practical tools and workflows.
- Analyze and optimize production workflows, including scene and render optimization.
- Support and adapt existing workflows in response to production needs.
Qualifications- Strong development skills, using traditional or AI-assisted methods.
- Strong knowledge across multiple CG disciplines.
- Experience with a range of DCC applications, such as Maya, Houdini, Nuke, and Arnold.
- Experience developing artist-facing tools and workflows.
- Experience using Git.
Preferred Qualifications- Familiarity with Rez environments.
- Experience collaborating with Pipeline teams.
- Experience as an artist in a VFX production environment.

- Practical and user-focused approach to development.
- Ability to translate production challenges into practical technical solutions.
